Every person after the fall of man is born in this earth with the sin nature. (Except for Jesus of course) Therefore they are a slave to sin and bound by the fear of death. God loved the world so much that He came up with a solution to get rid of sin and get His lost children back. God’s solution is to be born again/saved through the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

How to be born again in Jesus Christ? God gives every man a measure of faith. They are supposed to use that measure of faith at the appearance of Jesus to be saved and born again. People are saved by grace through faith and not of their own works, the gift of God. If you call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and believe God hath raised Him from the dead you shall be saved! If we confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. With the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! If you believe in your heart and want to be born again then say it out loud right now! “Father God in the name of Jesus, please forgive me for all my sin. I confess right now that Jesus is Lord and that you have raised Him from the dead! Thank you for forgiving me and causing old things to pass away. All things have now become new in Christ! I am now a child of God! I now live life by the faith of the Son of God, Jesus Christ who loves me and gave Himself for me!”

  • John 3:5-7 (KJV)  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
  • Romans 12:3 (KJV)  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
  • 1 Peter 1:7-9 (KJV)  That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:  8  Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:  9  Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
  • Ephesians 2:7-10 (KJV)  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.  8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.  10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
  • 1 John 1:9 (KJV)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  • Romans 10:9-13 (KJV)  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  11  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  12  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.  13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  • Acts 2:21 (KJV)  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  • Acts 16:30-31 (KJV)  And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  31  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

If you just said that prayer for the first time then, welcome to the family! You are now considered born again through Jesus Christ and can see the Kingdom of God! Old things have passed away and all things have become new! You are now a child of God which is born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God! You are now part of the body of Christ! Jesus being the head of the body!

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (KJV)  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
  • John 1:12-13 (KJV)  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
  • Colossians 1:15-23 (KJV)  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;  20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.  21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled  22  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:  23  If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Why Do We Need To Be Born Again?

Newborn Baby Foot 900x506

To understand the significance of being born again through Jesus Christ. We must understand the need to be born again through Jesus Christ.

Why do we need to be born again through Jesus Christ? Sin is like a highly contagious disease that entered into the world by one man, Adam. So death has passed upon all men because all have sinned. The sting of sin is death and to be carnally minded is death. Sin flourishes in the carnal flesh. This type of flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. Therefore Jesus Christ who knew no sin was made to be sin on behalf of those who are born again through Him. They are made the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus cursed sin in the flesh, destroyed death and the power of it, to save us. Cursed is anything that hangs on a tree. God did this for us so that through Him being raised up and resurrected, we can receive the promise of His Spirit through faith.

  • Romans 5:12-21 (KJV)  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:  13  (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.  14  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.  15  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.  16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.  17  For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)  18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  19  For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.  20  Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:  21  That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • Romans 3:23-26 (KJV)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:50 (KJV)  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:56 (KJV)  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
  • Hebrews 2:14-15 (KJV)  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;  15  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
  • Deuteronomy 21:22-23 (KJV)  And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:  23  His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
  • Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  14  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
  • Titus 3:3-7 (KJV)  For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.  4  But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,  5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;  6  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;  7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

God knew the effects of sin and what would happen. He had a solution from the beginning. Jesus who knew no sin became sin for us. Jesus took our sin that was destroying us and cursed it by nailing to a tree, the cross. He cursed our sin in the flesh but didn’t stop there.  Jesus also rose for our justification! Jesus gave us His righteousness, His life, and sent His Spirit which is the Holy Ghost to come dwell and live within us! If you’re born again you have received the Holy Spirit but do you know what being baptized into the Holy Spirit means etc? If you want to learn more about the baptism of the Holy Ghost check out this post: Speaking in Tongues in the Bible – It’s Easy, Here Is How!

Sin is like a virus that infected all of humanity in earth. Producing the works of the flesh. The children of disobedience are enslaved to the flesh and filled with the spirit of the world. Sin is death. It spread its roots and infected all carnal flesh. God knowing that this disease infected His lost children decided to come down in the form of a man and curse the very thing that was cursing His lost children. God knew His lost children couldn’t come up with a cure on their own. They couldn’t buy it from someone else either. There was only one solution, one cure, one way. Just like a good loving mother and father would lay down their own life to protect their child. God came down in the likeness of man as Jesus Christ and is the antidote for sin. No one took His life from Him. Jesus gave His life and laid it down to take it up again because of love for His lost children and even love for the world. You are considered the joy that was set before Him! The apple of His eye!

  • John 10:1-18 (KJV)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.  2  But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.  3  To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.  4  And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.  5  And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.  6  This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.  7  Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.  8  All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.  9  I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.  10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  11  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  12  But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.  13  The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.  14  I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15  As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.  16  And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17  Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  18  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
  • John 14:5-7 (KJV)  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?  6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  7  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
  • Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Sin is a cruel taskmaster. Sin is a liar and a thief. Sin is a horrible ruler. Sin forces people to “live” according to the carnal flesh. Sin is death and produces works of the flesh. Thanks be to God that sin can be removed from those who call upon the name of Jesus Christ, by Him!

Maybe you’re curious what happens when you’re born again through Jesus Christ. Perhaps you want to know what happens to sin? Maybe you’re wondering what happens to the old person you use to be, and who you now are in Christ Jesus?

What happens when you’re born again through Jesus Christ? Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Corruption can’t inherit incorruption. A person is born into earth the first time of corruptible seed and appointed to die once. When the person is born again through Jesus, the old corruptible seed of sin and the body of sin is destroyed and removed. They are now removed from the old carnal flesh which is crucified with Jesus and are now in Christ. They’re born again of incorruptible seed by The Word of God. These are now considered the body of Christ and are made one with Him. Since they are joined unto the Lord they are now considered one Spirit. The old man they use to be before Christ loses their head and passes away. Jesus Christ is now considered their head and they are considered His body. They live life now being lead by the Holy Spirit. The head aka The Word of God leading them and guiding them. It’s no longer the old man that lives. Old things have passed away and all things have become new. Now they live by the faith of the Son of God Jesus Christ who loves them and gave Himself for them!

  • Hebrews 9:26-28 (KJV)  For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.  27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  28  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
  • 1 Peter 1:23-25 (KJV)  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  24  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:  25  But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

  • Romans 6:3-11 (KJV)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.   For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  7  For he that is dead is freed from sin.  8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:  9  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.  10  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.  11  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  • 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (KJV)  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.  13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.  14  For the body is not one member, but many.
  • 2 Corinthians 6:16 (KJV)  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
  • 2 Corinthians 6:18 (KJV)  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
  • Colossians 3:1-3 (KJV)  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  2  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
  • Colossians 3:10-11 (KJV)  And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:  11  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
  • Colossians 3:15 (KJV)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
  • John 17:16-23 (KJV)  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.  18  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.  19  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.  20  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;  21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  22  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:  23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
  • Matthew 5:29-30 (KJV)  And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.  30  And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
  • Matthew 18:7-9 (KJV)  Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!  8  Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.  9  And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
  • Revelation 20:4 (KJV)  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
  • Revelation 22:4 (KJV)  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

When a person is born again, the old person they use to be is destroyed, killed off, and removed. The old corruptible man of carnal flesh we use to be was crucified with Jesus! That old man of sin is offended by Jesus Christ and must die. Therefore that old corruptible man that we use to be before Christ needed to be killed, destroyed, and cut off! The truth is that man is appointed to die once. When a person is born again, that old man they use to be ended up losing their head and was buried in the likeness of Jesus Christ death. The old man lost its right to think or speak because that man is maimed, beheaded and dead.

Jesus is the good and perfect gift from above. Jesus came laid down His life for us. Jesus is also raised and resurrected seated at the right hand of the Father for our justification. The born again believers are now raised up a new man in Christ Jesus. The church aka born again believers are now the body of Christ with new hands and feet etc! This means they are seated with the head at the right hand of the Father. They have been made one. Just like a man leaving their Father to be joined to their wife shall be one. Jesus came from the Father to be joined to His bride making them one with Him!

  • James 1:17-18 (KJV)  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  18  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
  • Genesis 2:21-25 (KJV)  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;  22  And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  23  And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  24  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.  25  And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
  • Ephesians 5:29-31 (KJV)  For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:  30  For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.  31  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
  • Luke 24:38-40 (KJV)  And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?  39  Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.  40  And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
  • Ephesians 1:17-23 (KJV)  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  18  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  19  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,  20  Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,  21  Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:  22  And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,  23  Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Again, born again believers have a new body and a new head because Jesus joined them to Himself! They are born of incorruptible seed by The Word of God. The body now lines up with the head. The body doesn’t do the thinking. However, the head does the thinking for the body! The head instructs the body what to do. The body responds and reacts based on what the head says! Where the head is, the body is also. The head sanctifies the body. The head is considered righteous. So the body is also considered righteous because they are one. The head has authority so the body has authority cause they are one! The head is seated at the right hand of the Father. So the body is seated also in heavenly places at the right hand of the Father.

  • Romans 8:5-11 (KJV)  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.   For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.   Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
  • Ephesians 2:5-7 (KJV)  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)  6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:  7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
  • Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
  • John 17:19 (KJV)  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
  • Matthew 18:18 (KJV)  Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

The reality is, there is nothing you can do according to your own works to be saved or born again. Salvation isn’t something the body earns apart from the head. Salvation is a gift from God by grace through faith in Jesus. Jesus gives us His righteousness! As a wife is joined unto a husband in marriage so are we joined unto the Lord. The head is what makes the body righteous and the body now lives life attached to the head. In other words the church which has many members is now attached to the Jesus. The church aka born again believers now live life with Jesus. The church being led by Him!

  • John 5:19-25 (KJV)  Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.  20  For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.  21  For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. 22  For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:  23  That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.  24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.  25  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

Let’s say a person has a disease with only one cure. Now a doctor can give that person with that disease in their body a cure in the form of an antidote to kill the disease off. This way the body can live a new life free from the disease. The doctor says would you like me to inject you with the antidote? Notice the cure is in the antidote. What do you think happens if the antidote is not injected into the body? What if the person said no thanks ill just change the way I eat. Ill work out more. I’ll get extra rest. Do you think they would be cured? Well of course not, none of that mattered cause the only cure was in the antidote. What if they talked about the antidote, touched the container of the antidote but never received the injection of the antidote? Would the body still have the disease? Well yeah, the medicine was never taken as the doctor subscribed. You see, the antidote must be injected into the body. The antidote must become one with the body. Then the cure goes into effect!

  • John 3:16-18 (KJV)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

God saw the disease of sin that was destroying people and came up with the only antidote to cure it, Jesus Christ! God saw sheep being lead astray by the yoke of sin! However, God also saw the value and potential of the sheep being with the Shepard! God hates sin. Sin thrives in the old body of carnal flesh! So God decided to get rid of that old body of carnal flesh and chopped off its head. God replace it with the body of Christ, Jesus Christ being the head! God decided old things passed away and all became new! Sin can’t thrive in the new body because sin has been removed! God loves people so much that He gave the gift of Jesus Christ, the antidote. Will you let the doctor inject you with the antidote? Will you receive God’s solution for a new life being free from sin through Jesus Christ?

Thirsting To Be Born Again | Drinking The Cup Of Salvation

Communion Cup Faith 900x506

Have you ever been thirsty? What did you do? You went and got a drink! What good would the drink have done if you just looked at it? What about if you touched it? What about if you poured it on your body? Well, you would still be thirsty. Everybody thirst’s for salvation in life and thirst to be born again whether they realize it or not. However, not everyone will drink from the cup of salvation that God provides for them. What does it mean to take the cup of salvation?

I will take the cup of salvation meaning? To take the cup of salvation means to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who call upon the name of Jesus shall be saved. Jesus extends His cup to the disciples and the world asking them if they will drink and be His bride. Those who accept His marriage proposal receive His forgiveness and the remission of sins. They are joined unto the Lord Jesus Christ and are saved!

  • Psalms 116:13 (KJV)  I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
  • Romans 10:13 (KJV)  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  • Matthew 26:26-29 (KJV)  And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.  27  And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;  28  For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.  29  But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
  • Mark 14:22-25 (KJV)  And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.  23  And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.  24  And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.  25  Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
  • Luke 22:14-23 (KJV)  And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.  15  And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:  16  For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.  17  And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:  18  For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.  19  And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.  20  Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.  21  But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.  22  And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!  23  And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

At first glance, the Lord’s Supper seems to be just dinner time and hanging out. However, to the Jewish culture, this means much more. It was the desire of Jesus to have this supper. When a groom wants to propose to a bride they have a feast. At some point during the feast the groom will offer and extend their cup to the bride they want to marry. If the bride accepts and drinks the cup it means they accept the marriage proposal. They are to be married and become one! Immediately the groom then separates himself from the bride and goes to His Father’s house to prepare a place for them. Once the place is ready the groom returns for the bride, consummate their marriage and they live with each other at the Father’s house. If the woman rejects the cup offered by the groom then it means they are not joined together as one and do not get married.

Not very long after the disciples drank the cup that Jesus offered, Jesus departed to the Father to prepare a place. Jesus was led to the cross, laid down His life, and took it back up. Jesus is resurrected and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

  • John 10:17-18 (KJV)  Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  18  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
  • Luke 23:33-34 (KJV)  And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.  34  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
  • Luke 23:44-47 (KJV)  And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.  45  And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.  46  And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.  47  Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
  • Luke 23:50-56 (KJV)  And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:  51  (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.  52  This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.  53  And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.  54  And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.  55  And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.  56  And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
  • Luke 24:1-9 (KJV)  Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.  2  And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.  3  And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.  4  And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:  5  And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?  6  He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,  7  Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.  8  And they remembered his words,   And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

Those who accept the cup of salvation from God are joined unto the Lord. They are sealed with the promise of the Holy Ghost. They are with God and God is with them! They live together! The groom with the bride. The head with the body. They are considered the temple of the Holy Ghost and they live in the temple of God. God is their shelter and refuge! They are also considered with Him already in heavenly places! They are children of God!

  • John 14:1-7 (KJV)  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  2  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.  5  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?  6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  7  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
  • John 14:15-21 (KJV)  If ye love me, keep my commandments.  16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  17  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  18  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.  19  Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.  20  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.  21  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
  • John 1:12-13 (KJV)  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
  • Ephesians 1:12-14 (KJV)  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.  13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,  14  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
  • Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
  • Acts 2:30-36 (KJV)  Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;  31  He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.  32  This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.  33  Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.  34  For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,  35  Until I make thy foes thy footstool.  36  Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)  But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  20  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
  • Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)  The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
  • Revelation 21:22 (KJV)  And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
  • Ephesians 2:4-10 (KJV)  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,  5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)  6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:  7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.  8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.  10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
  • John 17:1-26 (KJV)  These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:  2  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.  3  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.   I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.   And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.  6  I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.  7  Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.  8  For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.  9  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.  10  And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.  11  And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.  12  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.  13  And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.  14  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  15  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.  16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 24  Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.  25  O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.  26  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Jesus is alive and well! Today God is extending His marriage proposal to the world! In the Father’s house are many mansions. He wants you to come live a new life in Christ with Him! Are you thirsty for salvation? Are you thirsty for a new life free from sin and alive unto God? Are you thirsty to be born again and made child of God? Will you receive the groom? Do you want the promise of the Holy Spirit? Jesus loves you and wants you to accept His cup of salvation! God want’s you to be born again! Will you live life with Him?

  • John 4:14 (KJV)  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
  • John 7:37-39 (KJV)  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.  38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.  39  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given;because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
  • Titus 3:4-7 (KJV)  But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,  5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;  6  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;  7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
  • Psalms 23:5-6 (KJV)  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.   Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
  • Revelation 22:17 (KJV)  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
