Is It God’s Will To Heal Me? The Truth

Glasses With Cup And Tissues 900x506

When it comes to the topic of God’s will in regard to healing a lot of people wonder. Especially if they are in need of physical healing themself. Some read the Bible and see what it says but then question what is written because of something else they see in the world. So is it God’s will to heal me?

Jesus came to do the will of the Father. That means whatever Jesus has done is considered the will of God. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and one of those works is sickness and disease. Jesus being anointed by the Holy Ghost with power went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil. Jesus will definitely not cast out those who are given to Him and come. Jesus has defeated sin and sickness through His death and resurrection! He took upon Himself our sins. Therefore Jesus was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. God said to believers that by His stripes, we are healed.

  • John 6:37-38 (KJV) All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
  • 1 John 3:8 (KJV) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
  • Isaiah 53:5-6 (KJV) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
  • 1 Peter 2:24-25 (KJV) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
  • Matthew 8:16-17 (KJV) When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
  • Acts 10:37-38 (KJV) That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

That’s some amazing news that is written! This is a quick bitesize portion of this particular truth. As we continue we will go over more concerning the will of God in regards to health/healing. For example, was there sickness in the Garden of Eden? Also about how Jesus healed all who came to Him. Even about what God says in regards to Him healing the sick through believers. I will share a personal testimony to encourage you and you will also see what is written about God’s will overall in regards to healing and health through Jesus Christ.

Was There Sickness In The Garden Of Eden?

Beautiful Green Garden 900x506

When thinking back to the Garden of Eden before the fall, was there any sickness or disease concerning Adam and Eve? I specifically want to point out that before the fall and Adam/Eve disobeying God there was no such thing as sickness or disease.

Before the fall Adam didn’t have any knowledge of good or evil. He didn’t know what sickness or disease was. Adam simply knew what God said and that God’s word is Spirit and life.

  • Genesis 2:9 (KJV) And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
  • Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV) And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
  • Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV) My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
  • John 6:63 (KJV) It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The point is before the Serpent spoke to them, the only thing Adam/Eve knew was the word of God. They were only aware of what God said. The scripture later tells believers to attend, intently listen, be willing to learn, and hear God’s word. To open their ears and not let the word escape from their sight. To keep the word in the center of their heart! God’s word is spirit and life. The word is health to all their flesh. This was basically what Adam/Eve was already doing. All they knew was the word and what God said and that’s how they responded. Their eye was constantly seeing the word. Their ears were constantly hearing the word. The word was in the midst of their heart. This was just natural to them and therefore their flesh was healthy and alive because of the word of God.

Again, Adam/Eve before disobeying God only knew and understood what God said. This is very important to understand. They had no grid or understanding of “good” or “evil”. They simply knew God’s word. Isn’t that pretty cool? They only knew God pertaining to His word alone. What a blessing!

What would life look like for someone who purely only knew and understood the things of God alone? No grid of “good” or “evil”. Only a grid of God’s word and responding and acting upon that. No strangers voice to try to sway their thoughts one way or another because their thoughts were only set on things above. In a state of being spiritually minded continually and their thoughts lined up with the Word of God. Therefore as they believe in their heart so they were in their walk. This is what it was like for Adam/Eve before the Serpent spoke and deceived them.

  • Colossians 3:2 (KJV) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
  • Romans 8:6 (KJV) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
  • Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

The reality is there was no sickness or disease before Adam/Eve sinned. That’s the truth. They didn’t even have those words in their vocabulary. Not once did sickness of disease even cross their mind. The only thing they knew about death was what God said about death. The only type of death they were aware of was the death that comes from eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. That’s death.

So again before the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, there was no such thing as sickness or disease. They were filled with spiritual thoughts that only lined up with the word of God. Therefore all they saw and experienced was life according to Christ. Until the liar, the Serpent spoke. That’s when things changed!

Once the Serpent spoke things began to change. A new thought was presented because of the Serpent. A lie that was contrary to what God said. When they believed the lie instead of the truth that God said, they sinned and died. This is when things changed. God didn’t want it this way, that’s why God told them the truth from the beginning the truth.

  • Genesis 3:1-7 (KJV) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

This was the first time that Adam/Eve ever heard anything that was enmity towards God and His word. The Serpent spoke and now this they had a thought that didn’t line up with what God said. They believed the lie, and the lie produced death. All things related to sin became a reality to Adam and Eve at this point. They now had knowledge of good and evil which was a different way of thinking. The carnal mind of death was opened and now sickness and disease could creep into the world.

  • Genesis 3:14-15 (KJV) And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
  • Romans 8:5-8 (KJV) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
  • 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (KJV) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

You may be wondering what does this have to do with sickness and disease. Well, that lie the Serpent said is what caused Adam/Eve to not believe what God said but trust something contrary to the word. That lie produced death, sickness, and disease. Which is a by-product of sin, of the lie, of the carnal mind. Everyone now born in the earth was born into sin with the carnal mind.  The carnal mind constantly tries to lie to them just like the Serpent spoke. “Did God really say?” (If you want to know more about this check out this post: “The Carnal Mind Is Enmity Against God | Bible Truth“)

The point is God wants His children to be spiritually minded so they can experience life, health, and peace in Christ. The only way a person can be spiritually minded is to know what God said. God wants people focused on His word alone and not focused on the stranger’s voice. God wants people to experience health and life just like how it was before the fall of man! That’s only possible through Jesus Christ. God has given His children authority in Christ to take every lying thought captive to the obedience of Christ today! That includes every lie that tries to come and make you think that it’s not God’s will for you to be healed or healthy or full of life right now today in earth!

As we continue on we will look further into God’s will for you to be healed and whole through the Son Jesus Christ! Any other thought that tries to pop in your head saying otherwise is not of God and not yours if you’re born again. So take those lies captive and tell them to shut up in Jesus name! Silence the lying thought that tries to come as we continue on in the truth.

Jesus Healed All Who Came To Him

Hands Reaching Out To Receive 900x506

Jesus came to do the will of the Father. Jesus revealed the will of God and what that looks like in earth. It’s visible to all who have eyes to see.

One of the things Jesus constantly does is heal the sick. He didn’t just do this once then stop. He was constantly healing people wherever He went. All those in need of healing who came to Him to receive were healed.

  • John 6:37-38 (KJV) All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
  • Matthew 4:24 (KJV) And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
  • Isaiah 53:4-5 (KJV) Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

The truth is Jesus showed the will of God in regards to healing people, by simply healing them. Jesus came to take upon Himself our infirmities and our sickness and by His stripes, we were healed. That’s what the word of God says. Those who receive Jesus as Lord and savior also are called healed. He says it so plainly and clear only the serpent would want to question that!

Think about it. Can you recall any situation when a person asked Jesus to be healed and then Jesus refused and didn’t heal them? What about all the situations when a person came to Jesus seeking for Him to heal them. Did Jesus heal them or not? Did Jesus end up telling them “sorry I won’t heal you leave me alone?”

Let’s look at some more scripture where Jesus heals the sick.

  • Matthew 12:15 (KJV) But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
  • Luke 4:40 (KJV) Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
  • Luke 6:17-19 (KJV) And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; 18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. 19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

When people began to hear about the good tidings of the Kingdom of God and how Jesus Christ could heal. Then many people began looking for Him to be cured of their disease, infirmities, and sickness. Jesus loved them and healed them all! He wanted them to know what God’s will was in earth by showing them the kingdom of God. Jesus didn’t just talk the talk about healing, He walked the walk and healed them! The point is Jesus wants you to be healed. If Jesus didn’t want you to be healed then He would have said so in the word. His actions would of been different while in earth also. Remember that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever. Any other voice or thought that says differently is coming from the deceiver, the Serpent, the Devil.

  • Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

That being said, some might say well Jesus could do no mighty work in His own country. So therefore it’s not His will to heal the sick. Let’s take a look at that situation.

  • Mark 6:1-6 (KJV) And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. 2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? 3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. 4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. 5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. 6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Notice Jesus is in His hometown here. While Jesus taught in the synagogue it states they recognized mighty works wrought by His hands. So they saw Him do some mighty things, don’t be confused as if nothing occurred! However, they then questioned the will of God in regards to who Jesus is. They questioned Jesus’s true identity. They began to think carnally and miss the truth which would set them free. However, they were offended by Jesus. To me, that sounds familiar like when the Serpent tricked Adam/Eve with a lie.

So what does an offended person do typically? One of the things an offended person would do is leave or not show up, etc. I don’t know about you, but I’ve heard people come up with all kinds of excuses to avoid God because they were offended and bothered. So they decided to use that “offense” as a valid reason to run away from God. Things basically like…

“I don’t want anything to do with the church or God because they asked for an offering!”

“I went to church and someone mistreated me so I haven’t gone back! That was so rude and they are supposed to be loving and patient! Hypocrites!”

“I don’t like what was being preached. It felt like the pastor was talking about God changing me into a new person! I don’t want to change though, so it’s not for me.”

“Did you see the way those Christians worshipped? That’s ridiculous! Let’s leave!”

See what I mean? The point I’m making is one of the things people do when they are offended is not show up or simply avoid the situation altogether. These people were offended at the idea of Jesus being who He claimed to be and what He was doing in earth. They saw Jesus only as a mere man and not the messiah, the Christ, the Son of the living God! They wondered about His identity, “Isn’t Jesus the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and Judah and Simon?” etc. So what did some of them do because they rejected the truth about Jesus? They never showed up or didn’t end up coming to Him at this time because of that. Unlike the other scenarios where large crowds of people that came to Jesus to be healed etc. That being said, the scripture clearly states that Jesus laid His hands upon a few sick people and healed them in His hometown. To be able to physically lay hands on someone means that person had to show up where Jesus was. If they didn’t show up then how could Jesus physically lay His hands on them? See what I mean? Again, in other areas where people heard about Jesus, crowds of people showed up to see who He was. They heard amazing things and wanted to see for themself! When they showed up, they saw and experienced the kingdom of God! One of those fruits revealed was people being set free and healed! However, in His hometown, the majority thought differently about Jesus. They “believed” they already “knew” His identity and considered it was a waste of time to go see Him in person.

In reality, it was still God’s will for people to be healed, and the few that did show up received healing just like the masses of people in other towns! The others who didn’t even show up or come to Jesus in His hometown didn’t even believe all the amazing things about what they heard Jesus was doing! To them, they considered it a waste of time to go see someone they already “knew” about. Their past “experience” and “knowledge” about Jesus kept them from coming to Him now and learning more about His true identity.

Let’s continue onward. Think about what God says in the book of James in reference to the sick.

  • James 5:14-16 (KJV) Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Here God gives very specific instructions for those who are sick and haven’t been healed yet. Call for an elder of the church who can pray the prayer of faith. Basically on the sick person’s behalf. Why? So the sick person can be healed! God says to pray for one another and a righteous man’s prayer availeth much. Why would God tell the sick person to come to a person that can pray the prayer of faith? So they can be healed! Or vice versa why would God tell the elder to go pray for the sick person? So the sick could be healed! Wouldn’t you agree that since God said it here in this fashion also that He meant what He said? It’s clearly the will of God for them to be healed… It’s obvious, God wants that sick person to be healed… If the sick person is having a hard time believing/trusting God to be healed then God tells them to call a person who can believe for them in faith!

All that being said, today it’s very similar. Some people get mad/offended at Jesus like those in His hometown etc. The carnal mind finds all kinds of reasons to avoid Him even though Jesus is very approachable. Yet that same carnal mind will lead people to places where they can be bound by a lie. Some rather believe the lie than grow in understanding of what’s true.

The carnal mind doesn’t want to know the truth about Jesus and will never understand it. The carnal mind will never understand the will of God concerning healing. However, That doesn’t change the truth that it’s still God’s will to heal people today! Not all people will come to Him in this regard though. That being said, it still doesn’t change the truth of what Jesus has done, revealed in the word, and showed by His actions while in earth!

So remember Jesus came to do the will of the Father. He consistently was/is healing the sick in earth. So that means the will of God hasn’t changed in reference to healing. To say it has changed is to reject what is written plainly. So what about the scripture in reference to Jesus/God healing the sick through believers? Similar to what we briefly spoke about in the book of James.

What Does God Say About Healing The Sick?

Doctor Tool With Mask And Heart 900x506

We know that Jesus healed the sick in the Bible and that’s very clear. What about the will of God in reference to the apostles, disciples, and believers healing the sick in Jesus name?

The will of God is evident through Jesus and He said these signs shall follow them that believe. One of those signs is that the believer shall lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover. Jesus also said that those who are given to Him will be sent into the world, just as He was sent into the world. Jesus goes on to say that He isn’t praying for these people alone but also for whoever shall believe on Him through their word. Remember, Jesus went into the world, healed the sick, and told the disciples to go heal the sick in His name. The believers were sent and God is the one who did the healing as they went! We are simply just obeying what God told us to do! Today God is still telling believers to go into the world and heal the sick in the name of Jesus according to His word!

  • John 6:37-38 (KJV) All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
  • John 17:16-21 (KJV) They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
  • Matthew 10:7-8 (KJV) And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
  • Mark 16:17-18 (KJV) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

God said it, so it’s the truth. Jesus came to do the will of God and we see Him heal the sick repeatedly throughout scriptures. He then sends the disciples and apostles out to heal the sick in His name. Jesus also prayed for not only just one group of people but whoever would believe on Him through His word. That same word is still being preached today! It’s God’s will to still heal people today just like it’s written and occurred with Jesus and the disciples! Let’s take a look at some more scripture.

    • Luke 9:1-2 (KJV) Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. 2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
    • Luke 9:6 (KJV) And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
    • Luke 10:8-9 (KJV) And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: 9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

Here the Lord sent the 12 and also the 70 to go preach and also heal the sick wherever they go. Clearly, it’s the will of God because Jesus told them to. Jesus only does what He sees the Father do and remember He came to do the will of the Father!

  • John 5:19-21 (KJV) Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

Since Jesus gave His stamp of approval you can without a doubt know that the Father gave His stamp of approval as well!

Notice as the believers went sharing the Gospel and healing the sick in Jesus name. There were some places that they ended up which didn’t receive the truth about Jesus fully. However, they still were healed and signs and wonders still occurred!

  • Matthew 11:20-21 (KJV) Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: 21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Even in these places where the people didn’t repent, God still moved mightly and healed them naturally speaking, etc. The will of God was still shown in regards to healing. The problem was these people didn’t receive Jesus ultimately in the end. They wanted the “healing” and “miracles” but they didn’t want the Son, Jesus Christ! They wanted “signs” and “wonders” but they wanted to reject Jesus Christ and stay in sin! So they were “healed” physically speaking but not made whole. It’s God’s will for people to be healed and also for them to receive Jesus Christ. It’s foolish to only want healing or miracles but not want the one who healed them! However, that’s what these in Chorazin and Bethsaida were doing. They only wanted the healing and miracles but not Jesus. So even though they still got healed, they were still in need of being saved from sin because they foolishly rejected Jesus Christ! Think about this, is it better to repent and be saved or not repent, reject Jesus as Lord but experience being healed naturally speaking? I believe you know the answer to that question if you’re born again… However, you can also receive both through Jesus Christ! So why settle for only one or the other?

Today God is doing the same thing! God is sending forth believers into the field to share the Gospel about Jesus Christ! Believers will easily agree with that statement! Part of the good news is also God healing the sick in Jesus name. Telling them the kingdom of God has come nigh unto them! This is one of the signs that will follow them that believe! They will lay hands on the sick and the sick shall recover!

Knowing this, Jesus is also are an example in our walk with God. Jesus said it’s not Him that does the work but the Father within Him that does the work. So to be clear it’s not us who does the healing but rather God who does the healing aka the work. We are simply resting in the finished work through Jesus Christ. It’s Christ within us doing the healing! We are just coming into agreement with what God has said and done.

  • John 14:10 (KJV) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
  • John 5:17 (KJV) But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
  • Mark 16:15-20 (KJV) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Now let me be clear in what I mean by that. Some believe they are saved and forgiven through Jesus, so they’re born again. In other words, they believe what God said about salvation, them being forgiving of sin, etc through Jesus Christ. So they are saved and in the family of God. However some of them also “believe” it’s not God’s will for them to be healed or that God didn’t tell them specifically to go lay hands on the sick. Some “believe” this was only for a select few or only for a specific time and not today. Well if that is what you “believe” you probably won’t even step out to lay hands on the sick. Maybe some have stepped out and “tried” to lay hands on the sick but their experience didn’t line up with what’s written immediately and they concluded that’s not for them or today. Rather than continue trusting what God said over their experience. Let me encourage you by saying at least you trust in the Lord and believe He saved you, so you’re my brother or sister in Christ! I love you and want you to know that. I have heard some say if these signs don’t follow then the person isn’t born again and that’s far from the truth! Don’t let the enemy condemn you like that.

Now for my brothers and sisters in Christ. Just because you may have not seen this specific sign or experienced this in your walk with Christ up until this point. That doesn’t mean it’s not God’s will. I recall when I first started to step out and pray/lay hands on the sick. I didn’t “see” naturally speaking people get healed instantly. I was learning and being taught by the Holy Ghost many different things during that time. I was learning how to handle being rejected and laughed at in public. I was learning to love people regardless of how they responded or what they believed. I was learning to trust God’s word whether I saw the person get healed right then and there or not. One thing is for sure, I didn’t stop laying hands on the sick in Jesus name because the word didn’t change!

Testimony About God's Will To Heal And Me Learning To Trust God!

Wrapping Bandaid On Finger 900x506

Let me share a testimony to encourage you in this area about God’s will to heal the sick. I recall asking God to set me up to takes steps of faith because I would “feel” very uncomfortable when stepping out in public to pray/lay hands on someone who was sick. Thank God for the Comforter aka the Holy Spirit being with me. One day, while leaving work I made a bold statement to the Lord, “God show me someone on crutches and ill go pray for them!”. To me, it was as if a person on crutches would require big faith for the person to be healed.

Now only God and I would know this but I said that cause I rarely saw anyone on crutches in the area so… I was basically talking a big game because I wasn’t in that situation and I wasn’t really expecting it to occur. So if I saw someone that fit the description it would be very odd… At the same time if I didn’t see them then I wouldn’t have to take a big step of faith to pray for them to be healed… Well, you get the picture…

As soon as I walk out of the building and turned I saw a person on crutches. My heart started to race and immediately a “feeling” of fear and all these thoughts popped into my head trying to talk me out of going over there to pray for them to be healed. I ended up walking by them and didn’t do it.

When I got to my car I felt so bad and discouraged. I basically said something along the lines of, “Lord you told me to be bold and courageous! I need your help. In Jesus name I’m bold and courageous! Show me another person on crutches and ill pray for them!” I was feeling confident because I was alone and the odds were now in my favor. I thought it was probably slim again to see a different person I person on crutches…

I start to drive down the road and get a ways away then suddenly I see a different person walking with crutches on the sidewalk! Again my heart starts racing and I had a strong urge to pull over to pray for them to be healed. However, immediately a different “feeling” of fear comes and all these thoughts tried to talk me out of it again! I ended up listening to the thoughts that talked me out of it and drove past them…

Again I felt down and defeated. So I basically spoke to God again and was talking to Him about how He tells me to be strong, bold, and courageous. Basically like before. I then said, “Show me another person on crutches, and I’ll pray for them!”

At this point, I’m in my neighborhood and I decide I’ll go down this side road that’s kind of out of the way and less traveled by people. Sure enough another person on crutches! I would like to say this time I obeyed God and prayed for them but I didn’t. The same thing basically happened like the other two times…

Feeling depressed and defeated again I basically apologized to the Lord and decided to go to the corner store to get some snacks. I basically just went through an emotional rollercoaster and thought some snacks would help pick me up at that time. So I look around and get some stuff. and go to the cashier to checkout.  I notice the cashier had a band-aid on one finger and I thought to myself “I have enough faith for that!” This time I felt as if a little band-aid on a finger would take a small amount of faith and I could pray for that… So I ask her what happened and she told me what happened. I then asked if I could pray for her and God would heal her finger. She looked at me and chuckled basically saying, “Oh this? This is nothing, what really is bothering me is my back! You can pray for that.” Immediately, a thought came saying, “I don’t have enough faith for back problems!” I thought back problems required big faith. It was as if those feelings and thoughts were saying I don’t have that type of faith for that… However, she already said I could pray for her so I couldn’t back out now! So grabbed her hand like a handshake and I commanded the pain to go and for her to be healed in Jesus name… She was thankful for the prayer and I ended up having her move her back around. She began to move it and all of a sudden her eyes got real big, she started getting very excited and started talking about how the pain was all gone!

At this point, I basically try to talk her out of what just happened as if she didn’t really get healed… Clearly, God was patient with me as you can see… I basically responded as if it’s not really healed and explained she doesn’t have to say that if that isn’t the case to make me feel try to make me feel better. However, she just got more and more excited and began moving more and more around! Some thoughts still tried to tell me it wasn’t real, but the truth was she was healed and she could care less about those thoughts because she was experiencing the healing! She was just happy God healed her! Basically she helped me to finally understand she was really healed by showing me what she couldn’t do before! I then talk to her about God and Jesus… When I left I remember getting in the car alone, screaming with joy and glorifying God! This was one of the first times I saw God move like this in a public setting during my walk with Him!

I share this specific testimony with my family in Christ to encourage you to continue trusting what’s written in the Bible over everything else. Act according to the word not the feelings or thoughts that war against it. I didn’t realize this but prior to seeing people get healed publically etc, God was teaching me various different things overall. I’m thankful for that. Such things as being patient, loving the person regardless of their response, trusting the written word over thoughts, feelings, and emotions, etc. That day when the woman got healed I learned certain feelings and thoughts had nothing to do with true faith or the will of God. That day when I prayed for her back it was as if I felt I had no faith… I literally stood there and did nothing in silence after praying/speaking/commanding the back pain to go and for her to be healed in Jesus name. I stood there and rested doing nothing other than what’s written and God showed up!

  • Hebrews 4:2-3 (KJV) For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

The truth is God wants every born again believer to lay hands on the sick because He wants to heal people through what Jesus accomplished! This is part of the good news through what Jesus has done. Let’s look at some more scripture in regards to God’s will about healing.

Is It God's Will Not To Heal?

Ouch Written On Wall 900x506

Jesus came to do the will of God. Jesus came to save the lost and was constantly healing people wherever He was. Are there any scriptures that would cause some to think it’s not God’s will to heal?

If I was to ask a believer if it’s God’s will for people to be saved through Jesus Christ they would be like of course! Now that being said will all people in earth be saved? Well, the sad reality is no because some will choose to reject Jesus and what He has to offer for them. Some will simply reject what Jesus said. Similar to this scenario, it’s God’s will to heal people through the Lord Jesus Christ but not all people want Jesus this way. Not all people believe what the word of God says about healing. Not all people want the truth but God says you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Remember what I spoke about earlier with Jesus in His hometown? They didn’t believe the truth about Jesus and was offended. Therefore when Jesus was in town, they decided to never even show up. Only a few sick people came to Jesus to find out and were healed.

I’m reminded of the time with Moses and the serpents poisoning the people. Was it God’s will for them to die from the poison/sickness caused by the serpents?

  • Numbers 21:4-9 (KJV) And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. 5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. 6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

What I want to point out about this is the soul of the people became discouraged and impatient about the way God took them, so they spoke out against God. They didn’t agree with what God said and the path He took them. They agreed with a stranger’s voice or thought that opposed God. They were in sin and therefore the fiery serpents came and bit the people because of sin. That being said they asked for help even after they made a foolish decision. God then provided a way to be healed from the bite of the fiery serpents. The solution was to hang a bronze serpent on a pole and if any was bitten by the serpents, to then behold the serpent on the pole. This way they will live and not die because that’s what God said.

What would happen if a person was bitten and didn’t behold the serpent on the pole? Well, that would be going against what God said to do in this situation and therefore they would die from the bite. They knew both outcomes according to what God said. God wanted them to live and therefore provided a way for them to be healed. The decision was now in their hands if they would behold the serpent on the pole or not.

The poison caused some to get sick and die. God then took the very thing that was causing them to be sick/poisoned and hung it on a pole. God told them to behold the serpent on the pole aka the thing that bit them making them sick on the pole. At this point God provided a way for them to be healed, the ball was in their court so to speak. When they look and saw the serpent on the pole God healed them and they lived.

You see it was God’s will for them to be healed but sin tried to get their focus off of what God said. If it wasn’t God’s will for them to be healed then God wouldn’t have provided a way for them to receive their healing. That being said, sin and the carnal mind tried to get the people to go against what God said. Yet God still provided a way for them to be healed naturally speaking in this situation.

God’s people knew and understood the law and what this meant overall. They knew that God said cursed is whatever hangs on a tree. They knew when they saw the serpent on the pole that God was cursing the very thing that bit them and was killing them. This way they could live free from the sting of death. They just had to receive what God provided for them the way He said.

  • Deuteronomy 21:22-23 (KJV) And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: 23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
  • Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

They understood that the serpent’s bite, which was making them sick was cursed by God. God wanted them to behold the very thing that was destroying them and know that He Himself cursed it so they can live instead! That’s some good news!

Today it’s very similar but God wants us to partake of the inheritance through Jesus Christ. The serpent caused man to stumble and therefore all were born into sin, except Jesus of course. Jesus never sinned. However, Jesus did take our sin which was the very thing destroying us upon Himself, and nailed it to the Cross! Jesus took our sin, sickness, disease and cursed the very thing that was destroying us! He now tells us to behold the Son Jesus Christ and believe what He has done for us! That’s something to get excited about! God Himself cursing the very thing that was killing us so we can live and have life more abundantly!

  • John 10:9-11 (KJV) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
  • Colossians 2:9-15 (KJV) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (KJV) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God wants us to behold what Jesus has done for us. Jesus, who knew no sin, was made to be sin for us, so we can be made the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus not only took upon Himself the sin problem. He also addresses the sickness and disease problem head-on and states by His stripes you were healed! Behold, what the Lord has accomplished and done for you when He hung on the tree! Behold what He accomplished for you through His death and resurrection!

  • 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
  • Romans 4:23-25 (KJV) Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

God wants us to trust and behold what Jesus has done for us. God provided a way for us to be forgiven of sin and healed from sickness/disease. Don’t allow the soul to be discouraged or impatient at the way God decided! God wants us to believe and trust Him. Jesus made the born again believer righteous and through Him at the cross, cursed the very thing that was plaguing us so that we can live in Christ. The word states that we were sheep going astray but once we became born again through Jesus we have returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls.

Look at the Thayer’s Definition for Shepherd.

  • a herdsman, especially a shepherd
    • in the parable, he to whose care and control others have committed themselves, and whose precepts they follow
  • metaphorically
    • the presiding officer, manager, director, of any assembly: so of Christ the Head of the church
      • of the overseers of the Christian assemblies
      • of kings and princes

Now, look at Strong’s Definition for Bishop.

  • a superintendent, that is, Christian officer in general charge of a (or the) church (literally or figuratively): – bishop, overseer.

Now, look at Strong’s Definition for souls.

  • From G5594; breath, that is, (by implication) spirit, abstractly or concretely (the animal sentient principle only; thus distinguished on the one hand from G4151, which is the rational and immortal soul; and on the other from G2222, which is mere vitality, even of plants: these terms thus exactly correspond respectively to the Hebrew [H5315], [H7307] and [H2416]: – heart (+ -ily), life, mind, soul, + us, + you.

In simple terms, those who are born again have now returned to the Shepherd and Bishop of their soul. We now follow Jesus Christ who is the overseer of our heart, life, mind, and soul.

That being said, God states that through Jesus Christ you were also healed! It’s simple and straightforward that God’s will for His children to be healed. He said it very plainly and since He is our overseer/Bishop of our soul we trust and behold what He said! We do not go against what God said and His way!

If it wasn’t God’s will for you to be healed then why does the scripture say this?

  • 2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV) Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
  • Matthew 6:10 (KJV) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

The word of God says, that according to His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Jesus. What’s life and godliness look like? Does it look like sickness, diseases, and weakness? No no, those things are pertaining to death. God said He has given His children all things pertaining to life and godliness! That includes being healthy, strong, and full of life! See how clear the will of God is? Of Course, God wants His children healed and healthy in earth! Do you know that?

Notice He said through the knowledge of God/Jesus. What do you know about the will of God in reference to healing? What do you know is written in the word? Which thought do you come in agreement with? The thought that is against what is written in God’s word? Or the thought that lines up with what is written in God’s word?

As for me, I choose to behold what Jesus did for me on the cross! How God cursed my sin and sickness on the cross so I can be free through Jesus Christ! I behold the very thing that tried to kill me, has been defeated through the Lord Jesus! Therefore God said I’m now righteous and healed because of Jesus Christ!

What will you trust and believe? Will you behold everything Jesus accomplished at the cross or look at some other contrary way? Will you only acknowledge some things Jesus accomplished at the cross but ignore some of the other things? The carnal mind will always find something to say against God’s word. However, The Holy Spirit will give you thoughts from above that line up with what Jesus said to come in agreement with! Which thought will you agree with, trust, and believe? Which thought will you silence and take captive to the obedience of Christ?

“Did God really say I’m are healed now through Jesus? If that was true then why do I feel the same old way…”

“Is it really God’s will to heal because there is still a lot of sickness in the world?”

That sounds like the serpent’s bite to me…

The Holy Ghost would remind a believer like this.

“Of course, I’m healed now because of Jesus Christ! God said so and I trust Him!”

“It’s definitely God’s will for me to be healed because God said by Jesus’s stripes I was healed and God can’t lie!”

That sounds like a thought from above that lines up with scripture! It is God’s will for you to be healed! That’s why God provided the way! That’s why Jesus came! Have faith in God!

Sick Or In Pain & Need Prayer For Healing?

Are you in any way sick, in pain or in need of healing? I have some good news, God/Jesus can help! I’m going to pray the prayer of faith and God will raise you up! Remember the centurion and the sick servant? He asked Jesus to send the word only and the servant was healed.

  • Matthew 8:5-13 (KJV) And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. 8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. 11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

So the word will be sent to where you are and the Lord God will heal you right now! As you read the next statement, I want you to relax and do nothing. Simply rest. Here we go…

In Jesus name I speak to the person reading this and I command you to be completely healed right now!

Short and sweet! God is good! Thank you Jesus! Now do whatever you couldn’t do before in Jesus name!
