Abandoned House 900x506

Proverbs 11:29 seems like a short mini parable at first glance but this verse is filled with so much secrets that only those who seek will find! So what exactly does Proverbs 11:29 mean when it says, “He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.”?

Proverbs 11:29 is referring to a person being born again through Jesus Christ and following Him. This is called “troubling his own house” because “he” is choosing to trust God by faith instead of trusting the lies of the carnal mind which is enmity against God. When a person is born again they inherit the wind. In other words, God gives them a new heart and fills them with the Holy Ghost. The old foolish man is now exposed and becomes the servant to the wise of heart. The believer no longer needs to listen to the carnal mind because they are led by the Holy Spirit! The house represents the person. The wind represents the Holy Ghost. The fool represents the old person they use to be before Christ. The wise of heart represents the new person they now are in Christ!

  • Proverbs 11:29 (KJV)  He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
  • Romans 8:7 (KJV)  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
  • John 16:7 (KJV)  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
  • John 16:13 (KJV)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
  • Ezekiel 11:19-20 (KJV)  And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:  20  That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
  • Ezekiel 36:25-27 (KJV)  Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.  26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.  27  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Now that we understand the answer let’s investigate scripture to help give us a clearer understanding of Proverbs 11:29 in the KJV of the Bible.

  • Romans 12:3 (KJV)  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
  • John 14:6 (KJV)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
  • 1 Peter 1:7-9 (KJV)  That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:   Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:  9  Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

He That Troubleth His Own House Meaning

Abandoned House Person Jumping 900x506

When Proverbs 11:29 refers to troubling your own house it sounds a little strange or odd at first glance. However, when searching the Bible to see what God says about a house the meaning becomes clear. What does Proverbs 29:11 mean when it says “He that troubleth his own house”?

He that troubleth his own house is referring to a person being born again through Jesus Christ. Before a person is born again they have the sin nature and walk according to the carnal flesh. Jesus says if any man comes after Him to deny themself and follow Him. This is because it’s impossible to serve God and mammon. The carnal mind is enmity towards God and not subject to the law of God. The old house thinks carnally and serves mammon. Therefore God gives every person a measure of faith because it’s impossible to please God without faith. The person is supposed to use that faith to trouble their own old house. In other words, to deny the old man and to take captive the carnal thoughts which are trying to keep them away from the Lord Jesus Christ. When a person calls upon Jesus and is saved, the old house of carnal flesh is buried in the baptism of Jesus’s death! The old house is destroyed and this is considered troubling the old house. The born again believer is now raised up a new house in Christ Jesus!

  • Proverbs 11:29 (KJV)  He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
  • Luke 9:23-27 (KJV)  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  24  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.  25  For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?  26  For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.  27  But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
  • Matthew 6:24 (KJV)  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
  • Romans 12:3 (KJV)  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
  • Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
  • Romans 6:3-11 (KJV)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  7  For he that is dead is freed from sin.  8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:  9  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.  10  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.  11  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

It would have been impossible for us to “trouble our own house” if God didn’t give every person a measure of faith. The reality is not everyone will use the measure of faith that was given to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus and follow Him. The truth is the old house sees Jesus as a stumbling block and foolish! The old house wants to be built upon a different type of foundation. The old house doesn’t understand the blueprints of Christ. Everyone at one point in time thought this way but the wise chose to reject the lie of the carnal mind and accept the truth directly from God by faith.

  • 1 Corinthians 1:23-24 (KJV)  But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;  24  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
  • Luke 6:46-49 (KJV)  And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?  47  Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:  48  He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.  49  But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Notice one man was looking for a strong foundation to place the house. That requires seeking what is hidden under the surface. This man dug deep to find the strong foundation aka the rock for the house. Once the rock was found then the house was built upon it. The other man didn’t want to seek a sturdy foundation aka the rock. This man just wanted the house built on what was visible on the surface aka the sand. Both houses look the same to the natural eye but it’s what’s underneath that causes the house to stand strong. The rock is what causes the house to be well built. The one house built upon sand is already in a corrupted state from the start and in due time that will become visible in one way or another when the storm comes.

  • Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Only those that seek a strong foundation will have a house built upon a rock. The old house however is meant to be destroyed. It’s corrupted with sin. In other words, there is no foundation for it to stand on because there is no rock holding it up. When a person is born again the old house is destroyed and the new house is built upon the rock, Jesus Christ. The old house is torn down, then the ground is dug deep and a new house’s foundation is laid on the strong rock. The old house doesn’t want its foundation placed upon the rock but instead wants to just be built on sand. The old house doesn’t want Christ because it wants mammon. The old doesn’t want the deep things of God to be discovered or seen. The old doesn’t want the rock to be found and the truth to be revealed.  This house loves darkness and wants to be built upon the lie of the stranger.

  • John 10:1-5 (KJV)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.   But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.   To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.  4  And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.  5  And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
  • John 3:17-21 (KJV)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.  21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

There are two voices that speak. The sheep listen to the truth from the Shepard. In doing so they reject and flee from the stranger’s voice which speaks lies. The others listen to the stranger’s lie and reject the truth from the Shepard. Notice the two voices are enmity towards one another. That means you can only follow one or the other. That being said, the sheep trouble the old house because the old house tried to get them to follow the voice of the stranger. They listen to the good Shepard which gets rid of the old house for them and gives them a new house to dwell in.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The reality is it’s a good thing that the old house is troubled and destroyed. Who would want to live in a house that’s frail and built to fall? I recommend everyone calling on the name of the Lord Jesus so He can demolish that old building and rebuild a new one for you on solid ground!

What Is The Meaning Of House in Proverbs 11:29

A house doesn’t only mean a physical building with walls, a roof, windows and a door. The Bible does talk about physical buildings with walls and roofs. However, thats not the only thing the Bible defines as a house. So what is the meaning of the word house in Proverbs 11:29, is it referring to a physical building or something else?

Proverbs 11:29 is referring to a house as the person’s earthly body. It’s considered a house in which the actual person lives and dwells in. Troubling the house means to trouble the old corruptible seed and being clothed with the new house not made with hands which is of the incorruptible seed.

  • Proverbs 11:29 (KJV)  He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 (KJV)  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  2  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:  3  If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.   For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.  5  Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.  6  Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:  7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)  8  We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.  9  Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.  10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
When someone thinks of a house they typically think of a building. There is the outside of the house and the inside of the house. People driving by or walking by see the outside of the house. The family or people who live in the house see the inside of the house. A house is typically a place in which a person or family dwells, stays or lives.

In a similar fashion, the human body is a house in which the spirit of a person dwells. In some people dwells the spirit of the world which is of corruptible seed. These people are joined unto their father the devil.  The other people are joined unto the Lord through Jesus Christ and they have the Spirit of God inside them.
  • John 8:42-44 (KJV)  Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.  43  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.  44  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
  • 1 Corinthians 2:12 (KJV)  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
  • John 14:17 (KJV)  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)  But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The house filled with the spirit of the world is corrupted and beyond repair. The fix is to get rid of it and build an entirely new house filled with the Spirit of God, the Holy Ghost.

Shall Inherit The Wind Meaning

Door Looking To Water And Wind 900x506

In Proverbs 11:29 the person who troubles their own house inherits the wind. What exactly does it mean to inherit the wind?

To inherit the wind in Proverbs 11:29 means the person is filled with the Holy Spirit. The old person is not built to contain the wind. However, Jesus makes all things new for the born again believer. Now they are built to contain the wind. So Jesus sent the wind aka the Holy Spirit to live inside them. The wind passes over them and the old passes away. Now those who are joined unto the Lord are considered one Spirit. The believer is now considered the temple of the Holy Ghost.

  • Proverbs 11:29 (KJV)  He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
  • Mark 2:22 (KJV)  And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.
  • Job 37:21 (KJV)  And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)  But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

The old man of sin is not able to contain the Holy Spirit. The old carnal flesh wasn’t built to inherit the Spirit of God. Scripture says flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God nor can corruption inherit incorruption. God knew this and provided a way for people to escape the carnal flesh of man. Those who call upon Jesus can inherit the Holy Spirit! In other words, the kingdom of God is not meat or drink but righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Where does the Holy Spirit dwell? Inside the born-again believer. God says the kingdom of God is within them. The old corruptible house can’t inherit the kingdom of God but the incorruptible house can inherit the kingdom of God!

  • 1 Corinthians 15:50 (KJV)  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
  • Psalms 103:14-16 (KJV)  For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.  15  As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.  16  For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
  • Romans 14:17 (KJV)  For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
  • Luke 17:21 (KJV)  Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Jesus knowing this provided a way to remove the old frame and so the new frame could inherit the wind. This is why Jesus said it’s better for His children that He goes so the Comforter comes and lives within them! Jesus removes the sin and old nature built from the dust which is carnal flesh! The carnal flesh is meant to go into the fire! The carnal flesh is meant to be removed from the believer. God shakes off the old and it is consumed!

  • 1 Corinthians 3:15 (KJV)  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
  • Hebrews 12:26-29 (KJV)  Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.  27  And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.  28  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:  29  For our God is a consuming fire.

God knowing that the old carnal flesh cannot inherit the wind sent His son Jesus to pay a high price for us. To remove sin and separate His children from the carnal flesh! This way they can inherit His Spirit which is the Holy Ghost! They are now in Christ!

  • Leviticus 12:3 (KJV)  And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
  • Colossians 2:9-15 (KJV)  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:  11  In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:  12  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.  13  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;  14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;  15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
  • Romans 8:8-11 (KJV)  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
  • 1 Peter 1:23-25 (KJV)  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  24  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:  25  But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Thank you Father for sending the Son Jesus Christ! Because of Jesus the Holy Spirit was sent to born again believers who now inherit the wind! Jesus removed us from the old corruptible house and sealed us by the wind! The Holy Spirit seals the believer and leads them and guides them into all truth according to God’s Word, Jesus!

  • John 14:16-18 (KJV)  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  17  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  18  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
  • John 14:26 (KJV)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
  • John 15:26-27 (KJV)  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:  27  And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
  • John 16:7 (KJV)  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
  • Acts 2:38-39 (KJV)  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  39  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
  • 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (KJV)  Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;  22  Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
  • Ephesians 1:13-14 (KJV)  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,  14  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

What a great inheritance the Lord Jesus Christ gave to His children! Those who trouble their own house inherit the wind! In other words, the children that are born again inherit the wind which is the Holy Ghost!

The Fool Shall Be Servant To The Wise Of Heart Meaning

Holding Bible In Field 900x506

When you hear about how the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart in Proverbs 11:29 what do you think about? What exactly does this Bible verse mean?

In Proverbs 11:29 the fool is referring to the old house’s carnal way of thinking which comes from Satan. The new house however has inherited the wind and received a brand new wise heart along with the mind of Christ. A fool is enmity towards God and rejects what God says. Those who are wise accept what God says and rejects anything that is contrary to God’s Word. God says to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. This was impossible before being born again because the body was a servant to the carnal mind. Once a person is born again the carnal mind has no more dominion over them. The Spirit now has dominion over the carnal mind and tells the body what to do!

  • Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV)  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
  • Romans 8:7 (KJV)  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
  • Ezekiel 36:26-27 (KJV)  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.  27  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
  • 2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
  • Luke 16:13 (KJV)  No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
  • Matthew 19:26 (KJV)  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
  • Matthew 26:41 (KJV)  Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

The Word says you can’t serve to masters. The foolish man doesn’t want to build his house upon the rock. The fool rejects and doesn’t do what Jesus says.

Just like the carnal mind which wants nothing to do with what God says because it’s enmity towards God! People who are not born again and reject God’s word listen to this mind. They serve it and are obedient to it.

However, once a person is born again through Jesus Christ, God gives them a new heart and fills them with the Holy Spirit! The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of wisdom and those who are joined unto the Lord are joined unto His Spirit! They are considered wise cause they are led by the Spirit of God.

  • 1 Corinthians 1:23-24 (KJV)  But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;  24  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
  • Isaiah 11:2 (KJV)  And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
  • 1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)  But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
  • Romans 8:14 (KJV)  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

This is considered a wise person because they listen to what God says. They are considered wise because they have been joined unto the Lord and is one spirit! The new man in Christ can be taught the things of God because of the Spirit of God! A fool would say that is false because a fool doesn’t agree with what God says. A fool is filled with the spirit of the world and their father is the the chief fool. They are considered fools cause they listen to the liar and agree with him! A fool can never understand the things of God cause they don’t have the Spirit of God.

  • 1 Corinthians 2:9-16 (KJV)  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  11  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  12  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  13  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  15  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  16  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
  • Proverbs 16:2 (KJV)  All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

The old man with the spirit of the world is bound to sin and a slave of it. The new man in Christ is filled with the Holy Ghost and free from sin! They now how dominion over the old way of living because they are lead by the Spirit of God and are no longer a slave to sin but a slave to righteousness. This means THE SPIRIT INDEED IS WILLING so the carnal flesh is considered weak and has no hold of them any longer!  So they can walk in victory because of the Spirit of God! If you’re born again, that’s the way you need to think now. This does not mean the spirit indeed is willing BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK. This is how a lot of people read this verse. Sure the carnal flesh dominates a person of the old house who is not born again and there is no way for them to be victorious over it on their own. The only way to take dominion over the carnal flesh is through Jesus Christ. Born again believers should think this way and believe that the old carnal flesh or sin no longer has dominion over them. They no longer are defeated because of the body of sin and the carnal flesh! They got a new body and a new heart which is filled with God’s Spirit! The scripture says God causes the born again believer to triumph in Christ. It doesn’t say God leads the born again believer into defeat. Sin and the carnal flesh was defeated because of Jesus Christ! That’s some good news! Believe it!

  • 2 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
  • Romans 6:5-14 (KJV) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
  • Romans 6:17-18 (KJV) But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

That’s the instruction from the Father! Believe that and fool’s voice is exposed for the lies he tries to tell!

The Fool And The Wise

A person who is born again is considered wise. Why? Their master is God and that’s who they serve. They are considered wise because God is wise and they follow His instruction.

  • 1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

They are considered wise because of what God has done for them. They no longer think according to the carnal mind but with the mind of Christ to be instructed. They follow the instructions of their Father! They are lead and taught by the Holy Ghost who is wisdom and He gives them understanding!

  • Exodus 28:3 (KJV)  And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.
  • Exodus 31:3 (KJV)  And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
  • Exodus 35:31 (KJV)  And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;
  • Deuteronomy 34:9 (KJV)  And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.
  • Isaiah 11:2 (KJV)  And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
  • Luke 2:40 (KJV)  And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
  • Ephesians 1:17-19 (KJV)  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  18  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  19  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

God is the very definition of wisdom. His Spirit is wisdom. The Holy Spirit is the teacher which reveals the revelation and understanding about Jesus Christ. He teaches, leads, and guides into all truth! The only way to be wise of heart is to be filled with the Spirit of God. Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit are wise because of the Holy Spirit! The fool has the spirit of the world and is unwise.

  • Psalms 14:1 (KJV)  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
  • Psalms 53:1 (KJV)  To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

The fool believes the lie that makes them think they are wise in their own eyes apart from God. Just like the serpent. However, the serpent is a fool and therefore was cursed! Remember, those who listen to the counsel of the Holy Ghost is wise.

  • Proverbs 12:15 (KJV)  The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
  • Proverbs 3:7 (KJV)  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
  • Genesis 3:14 (KJV)  And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

The fool enjoys the things of the carnal flesh and those things are their sustenance in which they “live”.  The wise live and are sustained by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

  • Ecclesiastes 4:5 (KJV)  The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.
  • Matthew 4:4 (KJV)  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The fool can not stand in the sight of God. The wise are saved by Jesus and can stand in the sight of God by the Holy Spirit!

  • Psalms 5:5 (KJV)  The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
  • Ephesians 6:13 (KJV)  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
  • Colossians 4:12 (KJV)  Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

A fool despiseth the Father’s instruction about Jesus. Those who hear the Father’s instruction concerning Jesus are wise.

  • Proverbs 3:12 (KJV)  For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
  • Hebrews 12:5-6 (KJV)  And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:   For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
  • Proverbs 15:5 (KJV)  A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
  • Proverbs 9:6 (KJV)  Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
  • Proverbs 22:3 (KJV)  A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Wisdom is to high for a fool because they don’t have the Holy Ghost. A son of God is filled with the Holy Spirit and enlightened.

  • Proverbs 24:7 (KJV)  Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
  • 1 Corinthians 2:10 (KJV)  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
  • Psalms 18:28 (KJV)  For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
  • Proverbs 20:27 (KJV)  The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
  • 1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

If you’re born again we are no longer supposed to see people or God after the flesh. We now see things according to what God says.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:16 (KJV)  Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

When reading about the fool and wise make sure to see the root cause of both. Remember we don’t war after the flesh. The Holy Spirit is wise and makes a person wise when they are filled with Him. Satan is a fool. Those that are filled with his spirit, which is the spirit of the world are fooled by him.

  • 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (KJV)  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  4  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)   Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;  6  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Born again believers, remember we all were fooled before coming to Christ Jesus. That’s why Jesus came to save people from sin and the devil. He came to save them from the fool. He came to fill them with His Spirit so they can become wise and be led by God! So born again believers as you go, minister to those who are fooled by the fool. So that they can know the truth about Jesus and be filled with the Spirit of wisdom. God loves them and wants to save them! Just like how Jesus saved you!

  • 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (KJV)  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
