The Incorruptible Seed and How It Relates to Sonship

When a lot of people hear about Jesus and how He relates to us. Different people have different perspectives. Some think that He loves us. Some may think that He was a crook towards us. Some may think He stole from us. Some may think He has blessed us. Some may think He is a friend while others may think He is an enemy. In this article, I want to discuss a perspective about how God sees us as His sons through the incorruptible seed.

How does the incorruptible corruptible seed relate to sonship? The Bible states that when a person is born again it’s of incorruptible seed through the Word of God which is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ changes us and now God calls us his sons! (1 Peter 1:23, John 1:12-13 Gal. 4:6, 1 John 3:1-2)

Let’s take an in-depth look at scripture related to the incorruptible seed and being God’s sons/children.

Understanding The Incorruptible Seed

When you sit down and really think about it, what in this world is not corruptible? Everything from this world has an expiration date to a certain degree. Metal rusts, trees decay, and animals die. There are plenty of other examples but you get the point.

Although those things are corruptible, the carnal flesh/body is corruptible as well. Every person that is born into this world is born according to the corruptible seed.

  • Genesis 3:14-15 (KJV)  And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:  15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

When Adam and Eve sinned they received a new seed from the serpent. This seed brought death the moment they received it. This very seed is the sin nature that is corruptible and this seed came from the word that the serpent gave them which they believed and trusted.

Before they listened/believed the serpent and sinned they had a completely different seed/nature. They had the very nature of God. The reality of a seed is that it can only produce after its own kind.

  • Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV)  And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:  17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
  • Genesis 3:1 (KJV)  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
  • Genesis 1:11-12 (KJV)  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.  12  And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Two distinct differences between the serpent’s seed and God’s seed is that the serpent’s seed is corruptible while God’s seed is incorruptible.

In other words, whatever takes after the serpent’s seed will produce corruption and perish. While whatever takes after God’s seed will produce incorruption and live. Things that are corruptible won’t last but things that are incorruptible will last forever in the same fashion.

The word that comes from Satan produces death while The word that comes from God produces everlasting life!

God is considered incorruptible and life eternal. He is the beginning and the end.

  • Romans 1:23 (KJV)  And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
  • Revelation 1:8 (KJV)  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
  • Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
  • 1 John 5:11 (KJV)  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
  • John 1:4 (KJV)  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Since God/Jesus is eternal life that means anyone who knows Him has eternal life as well. That seed will reproduce in like manner.

The point is Jesus/God is the incorruptible seed. Anyone who receives God/Jesus also receives His nature. That includes all the things pertaining to life and godliness through Him.

  • John 17:3 (KJV)  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
  • John 3:16-18 (KJV)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
  • 2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV)  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

When you partake of this incorruptible seed it will grow into a tree. That tree will begin to produce fruit that is incorruptible. Things like love, joy, and peace. Things like health, healing and helping others. Things like being a blessing and giving to the poor or even praying for those who mistreat you. These are all types of fruits that are incorruptible but it can only grow this way if the seed itself is incorruptible. All these good things are stemming from the only source that is good, God!

  • Mark 10:18 (KJV)  And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

So God and His word are considered life eternal and incorruptible. What about death and being corruptible?

Understanding The Corruptible Seed

Small Plant Growing

Death and being corruptible is also something that can last forever. Although it goes against what a lot of people think. Let me explain. If you have the corruptible nature then everlasting punishment is the reward.

When people think about being corruptible or death, they usually relate it to a specific type of decay. Basically decaying until it’s gone or dead. It seems at first glance that, once something has fully decayed it can’t decay anymore. As if it’s a one-time situation that leads to the ultimate type of decay which is death.

It’s true this type of decay does happen. A flower may wither away in the scorching sun and be gone. The carnal body/flesh will also decay but the person’s spirit and/or soul will be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of God. This everlasting place is the home for the corruptible seed.

  • Matthew 25:41 (KJV)  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
  • Matthew 25:46 (KJV)  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
  • 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 (KJV)  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:  9  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

This seed that is corruptible also stemmed from a source. This source is Satan. He also has a seed but his seed is corruptible and his seed is reserved for eternal punishment.

Some people prefer the carnal corruptible things while on earth. Even if they know these things are causing them to decay or destroying their lives.

What are some characteristics of this corruptible seed? People smoke cigarettes with the knowledge that it eats away at their bodies. People drink alcohol with the knowledge that is killing their organs. Some people even claim to enjoy pain and will even do physical harm to their bodies. Others will risk destroying their marriage for a one night stand. The list goes on and on.

All these things are considered corrupt fruit that has grown but it all stemmed from a seed. The seed grew into a tree and that tree produced fruit that’s corruptible.

Now that we have a better understanding of the corruptible seed and incorruptible seed we can begin to understand an orphan and a son.

Lost Sons That Are Now Found

Every person who is born on this earth is born unto the carnal flesh. They are born with a corruptible nature. As we learned before this all came from the corruptible seed.

Another way to put it is they are born in this world not knowing who their real Father is. They are born with a false identity that mirrors the same nature of the devil.

The good news is our real Father didn’t just run off and leave us stranded as orphans. He came looking for each and every lost child of His.

  • Luke 15:24 (KJV)  For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
  • Luke 19:10 (KJV)  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
  • Matthew 18:10-14 (KJV)  Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.  11  For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.  12  How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?  13  And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.  14  Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

After Adam and Eve sinned there was only one person who was born in this world with the very nature of God, Jesus Christ. He was the only begotten Son from the Father. He was born with an incorruptible seed. The good news is all who receive Him also receive the incorruptible seed because Jesus is the incorruptible seed.

God knew that a seed can only produce after its own kind. So God came to find his lost Sons and restore them back to their true identity which can only be found in Him through Jesus Christ. The only way we can get rid of the old corruptible nature is if we receive the incorruptible seed which is Jesus aka the word of God. This is a believer’s born again experience.

  • 1 Peter 1:23-25 (KJV)  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  24  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:  25  But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
  • 1 Peter 3:4 (KJV)  But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
  • 1 John 5:11-12 (KJV)  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  12  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Once a person becomes born again they take on the very nature of Almighty God. They are no longer lost but they are found. It doesn’t matter if they are male or female cause now God calls them His Sons.

  • John 1:12-14 (KJV)  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Godeven to them that believe on his name:  13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
  • Romans 8:14-17 (KJV)  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
  • Galatians 3:26-29 (KJV)  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  27  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  28  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  29  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
  • 1 John 3:1-2 (KJV)  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

God saw us and counted it all joy to restore us back into the family! It was His great pleasure to come looking for us when we were lost and we weren’t even considering Him as our Father!

He loved us so much that He sowed the incorruptible seed by nailing the flesh to the cross so that He can reproduce His very own nature in all of those who choose to believe and follow Jesus Christ! Jesus had to die and rise again so he could produce much more fruit! So He could produce His fruit in our lives! So He could produce more Sons! He now calls us His sons!

  • Romans 5:17-19 (KJV)  For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)  18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  19  For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
  • John 12:23-26 (KJV)  And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.  24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.  25  He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.  26  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:42-49 (KJV)  So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:  43  It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:  44  It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.  45  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.  46  Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.  47  The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.  48  As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.  49  And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Believing Your A Son Of God

The scripture even talks about all creation waiting for the sons of God to be manifested. In other words, all creation is waiting for us to walk in the identity God has given us. Another way we can put it is all of creation is waiting for the sons of God to appear or for the sons of God to reveal who God says they are through Christ Jesus.

  • Romans 8:19-22 (KJV)  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.  20  For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,  21  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  22  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Every born again believer is considered a son of God. That doesn’t mean every believer knows this. Some may even know the scriptures states that but does not believe it.

However, it really matters when you know and believe you’re a son of God through Jesus Christ. When you know and believe you’re a son of God than your reality/experience in life will begin to line up with that truth! You will begin to respond in every situation as a son of God and not as a person from this world without Jesus.

Think of it like this. If I don’t know how to swim then I probably won’t go into water cause of the fear of drowning. If someone taught me how to swim and showed me certain techniques I would then know how to stay afloat. However, that doesn’t mean I believe I can stay afloat now. I can have all the knowledge and courses in the world to teach me how to swim but if I don’t believe it’s true or that I can use it to swim, then does it help me swim? If I don’t believe I can swim, even though I know how to then I still may not get in the water because of the fear of me drowning. If I mix knowing and believing then I can swim with the use of that knowledge. Together I can use that knowledge to get into the water and practice those techniques until I successfully swim.

When you know the truth and believe it, then the manifestation will come to pass. It doesn’t matter how long it takes it doesn’t matter what people say. It doesn’t matter if they swam like a rock the first try. It doesn’t matter how long it takes because they know how to swim and believe they can do it too! It’s not a matter of trying cause someone can try swimming one time and give up. Even with the knowledge of how to swim. That just reveals they didn’t truly believe they could swim.

Just like the analogy above if you know and believe you’re a son of God then you’re going to manifest that reality. It will become your experience in life. Scripture tells us we now cry out Abba Father! God is our Dad now though Jesus Christ. He tells us now as sons to do all things without grumbling or dispute and to be blameless in a perverse nation as lights in the world. Do you believe you can through Jesus Christ?

  • Galatians 4:6-7 (KJV)  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  7  Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
  • Proverbs 2:1-5 (KJV)  My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;  2  So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;  3  Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;  4  If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;  5  Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
  • Philippians 2:13-16 (KJV)  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  14  Do all things without murmurings and disputings:  15  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;  16  Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Can you imagine a parent with two children, one believing they are their children and the other thinking they are not their child? The one that believes they are a child will walk around the house feeling at home. Eating their parent’s food or using their parent’s stuff. Even doing certain things in the house without asking the parent before they do. The other child may feel like they are in a stranger’s home. They may feel like their real parents gave up on them. They may ask the parents at the house if they can use the restroom or if they can get a glass of water. They may not feel safe or they might be terrified to do anything. Even though the parent loves them and wants them to relax, the child may not be able to because of these thoughts, feelings or emotions. This is because the child doesn’t believe they are part of the family.

One child knew and believed they were family. So they responded that way and it was manifested that they truly believed that. The other child didn’t know and believe a lying thought so they responded as an orphan.

Interestingly enough a child that is adopted can know and believe they are part of the family. Even though they may have been adopted it doesn’t change the truth that they are still part of the family by faith/believing. So they will manifest themselves as a child in that house.

The point is the way a person thinks is what shapes their identity. That means what we believe will be a reality in our life. That’s what our experience will be or become. Our thoughts cause our daily walk to be influenced greatly or should I say our thought we choose to believe.

  • Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)  For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

So which thought will you believe? The one that lines up with God or the one that lines up with Satan? Scripture tells us to think how God thinks and not how people from this world think. To think like a normal human being from earth is to think like Satan and not God. God wants you to think as if you’re His son or child. If you believe you’re His son or child then you will also know you’re not from this world.

  • Matthew 16:15-17 (KJV)  He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?  16  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.  17  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
  • Matthew 16:21-23 (KJV)  From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.  22  Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.  23  But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
  • Mark 8:31-33 (KJV)  And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.  32  And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.  33  But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

Peter is a good example of this. Peter had two thoughts that influenced his actions. One came from God while the other came from Satan. So how did he know which thought came from who? Jesus aka the word made flesh discerned the source of his thoughts and told him. When Peter thought/believed Jesus was the Christ and Son of the living God, Jesus told him it came from Father God. Moments later when Peter began to think/believe according to how the world thinks about death. Then Jesus corrected him by rebuking Satan. He rebuked Peter’s thought process which came from Satan.

  • Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
  • John 1:1 (KJV)  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Today it happens the same exact way. Thoughts pop into our head from one of two sources, from God or Satan. The way you discern the source it came from is based on the word of God, the bible. The word aka Jesus discerned it for Peter cause He was standing there with him. Today the Holy Spirit is inside born again believers and will only speak according to the word. So the word is a filter for us to know and believe only the thoughts that come from God. Any other thought that is not of God is no longer our thoughts but the thoughts that come from Satan. Just choose to reject those thoughts from Satan and not believe those.

  • John 16:13-15 (KJV)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.  14  He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.  15  All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

I mentioned all of this because God wants you to know you’re His sons/children. He doesn’t want you to accept any other thought that says you’re not! He wants you to choose the thoughts that line up with His word about being in the family. When you follow Jesus and think like this it manifests/becomes your experience in life. Now that you have the knowledge about what God said about you just begin to believe it and respond that way!
