What Is Spiritual Milk According to the Bible? Explained!

Milk In Glass With Black Background

Is it safe to say most believers of Jesus have an idea of what “milk” and “meat” doctrine is according to the Bible? I thought I had a good understanding of what “milk” was until God opened my eyes. Now I see more on the subject than I did before. I wonder how many others have thought about this. Hebrews 5 talks about how “milk” is intended for babes or infants. How we must first be established in the milk before we can enjoy the meat. So it’s imperative that all Jesus believers should have a solid understanding of the “milk” teaching according to the Bible.

So what is spiritual milk in a nutshell? Milk is our understanding of righteousness through Jesus and the first principles of God. Generally speaking, it is any teaching that came into play because of the fall of man/sin. It’s also the foundation in the following subjects specifically. (Hebrews 5:12-13 & 6:1-2)

  • Milk According To Hebrews 5:12-13 & 6:1-2
    • Righteousness By Faith Through Jesus Christ
    • Repentance From Dead Works
    • Faith Toward God
    • Doctrine Of Baptisms
    • Laying On Of Hands
    • The Resurrection Of The Dead
    • Eternal Judgment

Spiritual milk is a desire all born again believers should have. Just like a baby enjoys milk to grow we should also enjoy the sincere milk of The Word to grow. Be encouraged and filled as your drink the spiritual milk of The Word of God!

More About Spiritual Milk According To The Bible

Milk shouldn’t be looked at in a negative regard. It’s simply foundational teachings that a follower of Jesus should have a firm understanding about. It’s something we should become rooted and grounded in.

Think of milk as the ABC’s of the Bible. We learn the alphabet as infants, but that foundation is something we continually use as we continue to grow into adults. We begin to use certain letters with each other and form different words/sentences. ABC’s are the foundation for our vocabulary. Spiritual milk is key subjects, that if we understand correctly will help us in our walk as believers through Jesus Christ.

To go over all of the foundational teachings of milk above would take some time. I will focus on Righteousness and briefly go over the others in this article. If our view of righteousness is incorrect based on what Jesus paid a price for us. Then the rest of the “milk” will also be looked at from a twisted perspective. So it’s essential to understand the truth about righteousness correctly.

The Milk Of Righteousness

Milk In Glass On Stone Near Green Grass

I knew for quite some time that spiritual milk was in regard to righteousness in a believer’s life. The moment we are saved God wants us to begin receiving what Jesus paid a price for. You see when Jesus went to the cross He went to curse the very sin that was killing us and give us His righteousness.

  • Hebrews 5:12-13 (KJV)  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.  13  For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
  • 1 Peter 2:2-3 (KJV)  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  3  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
  • Romans 3:21-26 (KJV)  But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;  22  Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:  23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Everyone has sinned and fallen short in terms of the glory of God. That’s simply the truth. We, however, are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. We are made righteous through Jesus Christ and His blood. We were sinners but we are now made saints. We are no longer who we use to be before Christ, because Jesus has justified us and made us righteous because of His righteousness.

To be righteous or justified means to be in right standing with God. God from the beginning wanted us, his children back. That’s why Jesus went to the cross and dealt with the sin issue for us.

Some followers of Jesus believe that their righteousness comes from their own works from the law. Nothing could be further from the truth.

  • Romans 3:27-28 (KJV)  Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.  28  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
  • Romans 10:1-4 (KJV)  Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.  2  For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  3  For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  4  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Righteousness is clearly based on believing by faith in Jesus and what He accomplished for us. It’s not based on our works of the law because if it was we would be able to boast about us. We are justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is it safe to say that some that believe in Jesus don’t fully believe this? Some feel like they have to be justified by their own personal actions. That’s exactly what the Pharisees did and thought too.

The Pharisees “Righteousness”

One way to help understand our true righteousness in Jesus is to compare it to the “righteousness” of the Pharisees. There is a parable that Jesus directed specifically towards people who believed they were righteous by their own works of the law. These people trusted themselves.

  • Luke 18:9-14 (KJV)  And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:  10  Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.  11  The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.  12  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.  13  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.  14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
  • Matthew 5:20 (KJV)  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

First of all, Jesus directed this parable to the people who trusted themselves as righteous by their own works. In this case specifically the Pharisees.

Think of it like this, were the Pharisees saved and in right standing with God? The truth is they had a form of “righteousness” and they thought they were in right standing with God. The Pharisees prayed to “God” and tithed and gave to the poor. They had some actions and some deeds that they did according to the law but did it make them truly righteous?

In Matthew Chapter 23 Jesus gets serious about the Pharisees. He basically exposes the lie of their “righteousness” to the multitude of people and His disciples. I’m not going to mention every verse in this chapter but you should definitely go read it to get a full understanding.

  • Matthew 23:3-5 (KJV)  All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.  4  For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.  5  But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
  • Matthew 23:13-15 (KJV)  But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.  14  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.  15  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
  • Matthew 23:23-28 (KJV)  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.  24  Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.  25  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.  26  Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.  27  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.  28  Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

These are only a few verses about the Scribes and Pharisees. Did you notice these people appear righteous to men but are full of hypocrisy and iniquity? These people make long prayers and even pay tithe but ignore weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith. Would it be wrong to say they had a form of “righteousness” but it equaled out to nothing because it was based on their own actions and thoughts apart from what God said righteousness really was? If they really loved God and were righteous, they would have loved Jesus also. But they didn’t. They constantly rejected Jesus. (See John 8:34-36, 42, 45, 47)

Righteous By Works Of The Law Or Faith In Jesus?

Some people try to complicate the whole subject of righteousness and the law when it’s pretty simple. People try to justify the law and their actions as making them righteous by saying Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law. The truth is Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law but He did come to fulfill it for us.

  • Hebrews 8:6-8 (KJV)  But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.  7  For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.  8  For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

The issue with the law and first covenant was that it had a fault with it. Verse 8 says that the problem under the first covenant was that God found fault with us because of the law.

Wow, that’s a strong and amazing statement at the same time. What’s cool about this is it reveals God’s heart towards us. He doesn’t want to find faults with us. We were His lost children and He just wanted us back. That’s why Jesus came and now we have a better covenant through Him. Jesus fulfilled the first covenant of the law for us because we couldn’t on our own. Why couldn’t we? Well, we had a sin-nature that just kept causing us to sin and keep on sinning. So God knowing this sent Jesus to accomplish what we couldn’t do on our own. He got rid of the sin-nature and replaced it with the Holy Spirit and His nature! He gave us all the prize winnings of His victory for us!

Think of it like this, there is a 1-mile run competition that is coming up and the prize is a brand new car. However, only the first place person gets to claim the prize. The race starts and I obviously lose cause I’m not that fast. However, the person who won comes up to me after he claimed his prize and said “Hey, I’m the guy that won the race. I would like to give you the car if you want it. All you have to do is sign this to claim ownership and take the keys”. This is basically the same scenario. Jesus did this by fulfilling the law for us. He won the race and got the prize. Now He gives the prize to all that believe in/follow Him.

Part of the “prize” is righteousness and being born again. Our righteousness comes from faith in what Jesus accomplished for us. Not our righteousness based on our own actions or works of the law. It’s simply trusting and believing Jesus. We receive what he accomplished for us by faith and we follow Him in our daily lives.

Understanding this will not cause one to live a life of sin. Look, it’s not rocket science. An apple tree grows apples. An orange tree grows orange. A person with a sin-nature produces a sinful lifestyle. A born again believer filled with the Holy Spirit/God’s very own nature produces a righteous way of living. It will actually set them free to live a life unto God freed from the very sin which once enslaved them!

The topic of righteousness is essential and there is more we could mention on this subject as well. This was brief but intended to help understand righteousness before moving onto the other milk doctrines. The reason is if we don’t understand righteousness through Jesus by faith then the other milk doctrines will be misrepresented or turn sour. If that teaching is skewed from the wrong perspective then all the following milk foundations have a high chance of being misinterpreted as well. This is why I took some time to explain the foundation of our righteousness through Christ Jesus at the beginning of the article. Now let’s take a brief look at the other milk/foundational teachings. (Hebrews 5:12-13)

So What About The Other Milk Doctrine?

Milk In Glass And Pitcher With Black Background

Hebrews chapter 5 talks about one particular subject of spiritual milk. If you continue to read Hebrews chapter 6 you will see other types of spiritual milk.

  • Hebrews 6:1-2 (KJV)  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,  2  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

These verses are immediately after Hebrews 5:12-13.  Notice they talk about going on to perfection and not laying again the foundation of the following. These are supposed to be ABC type principles every believer should know about! This stuff is considered MILK. Here is a chart showing the milk foundations.

Milk According to Hebrews 5:12-13 & 6:1-2
Righteousness by Faith Through Jesus Christ
Repentance from Dead Works
Faith Toward God
Doctrine of Baptisms
Laying on of Hands
The Resurrection of the Dead
Eternal Judgment

Would it be incorrect to say our perspective on our righteousness through Jesus and what He did would have an influence on these other topics of milk? The other milk topics above need to be looked at through the lens of Jesus and His righteousness/finished work.

Do you notice anything else in particular about these types of milk? What do they all have in common?

Let me put it this way, milk teachings came into play because of sin. Notice all of these “milk doctrines” are in reference/dealing with what sin caused/effected because of Adam/Eve disobeying God.

In other words, milk teachings are teachings that come in to play because of sin. For example, if no crime was ever committed then there would be no need for law enforcement. However, people still commit crimes so there is law enforcement. If a house caught on fire then a firefighter will show up to put out the fire. However, if there was no fire then there is no need for a firefighter. Since sin is a real deal these milk doctrines come into play and there is a need for a savior! Jesus Christ is that savior! However, if sin never happened then there would be no need for the milk to come into play.

Milk - Righteousness By Faith Through Jesus Christ

Cross In Field Dusk Or Dawn

If Adam/Eve didn’t sin then all of us would already be righteous today. But they did sin. So now our righteousness needed to be restored and we needed to be restored back to our original value. This can only be done through the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our righteousness and there is no other way to obtain it.

Some people think they could receive their righteousness by works of the law. Some think they themselves are righteous apart from Jesus. Some think Jesus isn’t the only way and they can be in right standing with God some other way. These are all lies from the devil and ultimately will result in death.

  • Galatians 2:15-19 (KJV)  We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,  16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.  17  But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.  18  For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.  19  For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
  • Galatians 3:10-14 (KJV)  For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.  11  But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.  12  And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.  13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  14  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Milk - Repentance From Dead Works

Cemetary Crosses 900x506

Since Adam/Eve sinned we were born with a sin-nature and therefore was slaves to sin. Having a sin-nature leads to living a life of dead works.

For example, if your a fish you swim in the water, not walk on land. If your an eagle you fly high in the sky, not swim underwater in the ocean. If your a monkey you climb trees and eat bananas, not try to survive in the Sahara desert.

Since everyone was born with a sin-nature they constantly sinned cause that’s who they were. However, now believers and followers of Jesus who are born again have been created brand new. Old things passed away and all things are now considered new. They no longer have a sin-nature inside them. It’s no longer them who live but it’s Jesus Christ who lives inside them. He has given the born again believer new life. Therefore the old sin-nature is dead and they are dead even to those old dead works. They are no longer enslaved to sin. So the born again believer can now live life by the spirit through Jesus Christ as if they never sinned. Believing this by faith will produce the fruit of the spirit and not the things of the flesh in the person’s life because this is now who they are in Christ Jesus. (See Romans Chapter 5)

  • 2 Corinthians 5:14-19 (KJV)  For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:  15  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.  16  Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.  17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
  • Galatians 2:19-21 (KJV)  For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.  20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  21  I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
  • Ephesians 4:17-24 (KJV)  This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,  18  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:  19  Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.  20  But ye have not so learned Christ;  21  If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:  22  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  23  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;  24  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
  • Galatians 5:22-25 (KJV)  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.  25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
  • Ephesians 5:8-11 (KJV)  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:  9  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)  10  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.  11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Some people believe they don’t have to change the way they think about dead works or in other words living a life of sin. Some choose this lifestyle of sin and believe that this is how God intended it to be for us. Some believe that it’s impossible for us to live a life by the spirit through Christ Jesus. Thinking this way will cause a person to continue living in their sins and be a poor excuse to continue in the sin lifestyle. Instead of letting Christ change the way they think by faith so that the dead fruit dies off and new fruit begins to grow in their life. (See Ephesians 4:17-32)

  • Romans 1:16-17 (KJV)  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
  • Romans 8:1-11 (KJV)  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
  • Proverbs 21:23 (KJV)  Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
  • Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)  For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
  • James 2:17-24 (KJV)  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.  18  Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.  19  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.  20  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?  21  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?  22  Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?  23  And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.  24  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Think of it this way. Let’s say you just moved into a new house that had a backyard large enough for only one fruit tree. You love oranges and want an orange tree in your back yard. The problem is there is currently a mango tree in the backyard and not enough room for both trees. So now what now? The choice is simple, get rid of the mango tree. To get rid of the mangos, you need to kill/uproot it and remove the mango tree. Once the mango tree is removed there is room for a new tree. You believe if you plant an orange seed that an orange tree will grow which produces orange fruit. So you plant an orange seed. You then water that seed and pull the weeds that try to grow around it. At first, you don’t see any orange tree or fruit visible above the soil but there is a change under the soil not visible to the eye. You know the seed is in the soil by faith and you continue to water the seed and protect it by pulling any weeds that try to grow near it. It eventually breaks the soil and you see one tiny glimpse of the orange tree. You see the first leaf. As time goes on you continue to water and pull weeds. It eventually grows to a full-sized orange tree producing orange fruit visible to all. Wouldn’t it be strange to think that mangos would grow from your orange tree since the mango tree is no longer there?

So why would it be any different for a born again believer? Well, part of the problem is people don’t believe the orange seed will grow into a tree that produces oranges. Maybe they think the soil can only produce mango trees due to certain types of climates. Maybe they think they are horrible at horticulture. Regardless they pluck it up and replant the mango tree and they never get to see the fruit they so desired.

That’s basically what Paul was referring to in Romans 6:11 (KJV) where he says, “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (See Romans chapter 6) If you’re born again, don’t you realize the sin-nature has been killed off and your nature has been changed? You now carry the same spirit that Jesus has inside of Him! That’s the same Spirit that caused Him to walk on water! You now are alive unto Christ. You now produce righteous fruit. Don’t be unbelieving thinking the old man is still alive in your life. Don’t dig up the orange tree and bring back the mango tree. Trust God, who said you’re a new creature in Christ Jesus and that the old sin-nature has passed away.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The overall point is when the seed of Jesus enters your heart you will produce His type of fruit. The seed may not be visible at first to others around you but you know the seed is there by faith in God’s word. That’s exactly why you water the seed with the word of God and continue to pluck the weeds which are things that come against what God said, the things that try to hinder the growth of the seed. The Holy Spirit will help with this of course. Not all seeds grow at the same pace. However, an orange tree is still an orange tree in its infant and mature stages of life. An orange seed is considered an orange tree. The truth is having faith in Jesus Christ will cause the fruit to grow in a believer’s life if you truly believe what He said and follow Him.

  • John 15:4-5 (KJV)  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
  • Mark 4:26-32 (KJV)  And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;  27  And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.  28  For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.  29  But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.  30  And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?  31  It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:  32  But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
  • Matthew 7:16-20 (KJV)  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?  17  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  18  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  19  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

If you’re born again following Jesus then begin to believe God really did change you. Believe He killed off the old sin-nature and put His nature aka the Holy Spirit in you! Believe you were a sinner but He has now made you a saint that’s righteous through His son Jesus Christ. Believe and begin to see the righteous fruit grow in your life.

Milk - Faith Toward God

Adam and Eve walked with God in a totally different way before the fall/sin. They saw and lived from His perspective. Adam was able to name the animals and take on tasks the way God would have. They Co-labored with God continually. After they sinned they were scared and their perspective of God changed. They now felt separated from God. They no longer saw God the same.

Some believers today think of God a far way off or so far away he might not hear us. Others think God has better things to do than listen intently to us or answer our prayers. Some pray to God and hope He would do what He said He would in the bible instead of actually believe what He said. They look and believe towards God but from their own human or earthly perspective apart from God. While God wants us to look and believe what he said but from his perspective.

After we are made righteous through Jesus, God wants us to begin to see from His heavenly perspective. What’s that look like exactly? Well God says we are now sitting in heavenly places through Christ Jesus.

  • Ephesians 2:4-8 (KJV)  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,  5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)  6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:  7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.  8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

God wants us to see ourselves and the world around us from His perspective. Instead of seeing from man’s perspective on earth’s towards heaven, God wants us to see things from His view from heaven and bring that to earth. He wants to bless us with all spiritual blessings in Jesus. He wants us to bring heaven to earth right now and we can do that through his son Jesus Christ. Once we’re born again, God is now working with us just the same way He worked with Adam/Eve before the fall. We are restored back to our original value and co-labor with Him right here and right now. He wants us to see that we are together with him and not separated.

  • Ephesians 1:3-6 (KJV)  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:  4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,  6  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
  • Matthew 6:10 (KJV)  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
  • 1 Corinthians 3:9-11 (KJV)  For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.  10  According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.  11  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
  • 1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

The point is God whats us to see every situation according to how He sees it. He wants us to trust His vision in all circumstances. We no longer should see and rely on things according to a human standpoint far from God. He wants us to see things with Him because He lives in us. He wants us to live, see and hear as if we were looking through the eyes and ears of Jesus Christ. We do that by aligning our perspective up with the Word of God.

If you don’t believe you been made righteous through Jesus Christ this will be a hard truth to swallow. You will see God from Adam/Eve’s perspective when they missed it. They ran and tried to hide from God due to fear. Sin twisted their perspective of God and they thought they needed to separate themselves from God. It’s essential to realize God came after them and us cause He wanted to get our perspective of Him back in a healthy loving place through His Son Jesus Christ!

Milk - Doctrine Of Baptisms

There are three types of baptisms that came because of the fall. There is the baptism by water, baptism in Jesus Christ and His death. Also the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire.

  • One of the words for baptism in the Thayer’s is baptisma which means immersion or submersion.

Baptism By Water

Water Baptism

Baptism of repentance for remission of sins

  • Mark 1:4 (KJV)  John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
  • Mark 1:8 (KJV)  I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
  • Matthew 3:11 (KJV)  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
  • Luke 3:16 (KJV)  John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
  • John 1:33 (KJV)  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

John baptized people in water for the remission of sins. When you go under the water it represents the old sin-nature being buried with Christ Jesus. When you come up from the water it represents you now being a new creature who is righteous through Christ Jesus. It shows old things passing away and all things becoming new. (Romans 6:1-11)

Born again believers are forgiven and cleansed from all unrighteousness. So we are therefore now righteous.

Baptism In Jesus Death

You Are Dead Graffiti On Purple Wall

Every person that is born again is also baptized into Jesus’s death.

  • Romans 6:3-8 (KJV)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  7  For he that is dead is freed from sin.  8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:  9  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.  10  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.  11  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  12  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.  13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Paul wanted us to realize that when we accepted Jesus as Lord that we were also baptized into his death. The old way we use to live according to the sin-nature was killed off and buried with Jesus. We are now dead to sin. Now we are raised up in newness of life in Christ Jesus and live a life unto God. Therefore sin no longer has dominion over you. You now actually have dominion over sin through the offering of Jesus Christ. Do you think this way right now? If not verse 11 says “reckon yourselves” which is the Greek word logizomai. Which basically means for you to think this way! Why would Paul say that and make it clear for us? He knew the carnal mind would try to talk you out of it! (See Romans chapter 6 & Romans 8:7)

This brings me back to how God told Cain how he could take dominion over sin through the proper sin atonement.

  • Genesis 4:7 (ISV)  If you do what is appropriate, you’ll be accepted, won’t you? But if you don’t do what is appropriate, sin is crouching near your doorway, turning toward you. However, you must take dominion over it.

This is another teaching in itself. However, the way you take dominion over sin is through the atonement offering for sin. The atonement for sin is Jesus Christ. Through the death of Jesus, we have died to sin. Also through the resurrection of Jesus, we have been justified and live in newness of life. Jesus is the resurrection and the life. He is our resurrection and our life. Therefore we now have dominion over sin through Jesus Christ. (Check “Finally, the Real Reason Cain’s Offering Was Rejected by God” For more on this teaching – Click Here!)

  • John 11:25-26 (KJV)  Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  26  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

The point is every person that is born again has also been baptized into Jesus death. Although Jesus died and rose again, He never sinned. He chose to lay down His life for us. Through His sacrifice and death, we as believers have died to sin. Sin no longer shall have dominion over us. That’s some fantastic news!

Baptism Of The Holy Ghost And Fire

Since born again believers have been made righteous they now qualify for the same Holy Spirit power the believers received at Pentecost. We will focus specifically on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues here. This is the external evidence of what happened to believers internally through Jesus Christ. I’m going to keep this subject simple cause it’s usually presented in a confusing manner which doesn’t help. Trust me I’ve been there myself. Here are some verses on the subject.

  • Luke 24:49 (KJV)  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
  • Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Every born again believer that follows Jesus has been filled with the Holy Spirit. Whether they have spoken in tounges yet or not. The problem this teaching has faced, is some people claim a born again Christian doesn’t have the Holy Spirit if they haven’t spoken in other tounges. This is not the case. They just haven’t seen the manifestation of the Holy Spirit take place yet in their life by faith. This is due to a lack of knowledge and understanding of what Jesus gave them.

  • 2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Jesus Himself considered this very important. He continually spoke about it being better for Him to go away or the Holy Spirit wouldn’t come to us. So while He was walking with the disciples before His death/resurrection, they were not born again/filled with the Holy Spirit. However, after His death/resurrection, they were then filled with the Holy Spirit promise and the evidence of that also occured.

  • John 7:39 (KJV)  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
  • John 16:7 (KJV)  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
  • John 16:13 (KJV)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
  • John 20:22 (KJV)  And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Jesus breathed on them and they received the Holy Spirit right then and there! This was the disciples born again experience. This was after Jesus died and resurrected but before Pentecost where the disciples spoke in other tongues. However, the manifestation of what just took place here wasn’t visible to the natural eye until Pentecost.

Regardless both of these experiences still happen today! New believers are being born again and also speaking in tongues! Sometimes both experiences happen right when they get saved. Other times the speaking in tongues comes later when they believe that portion of scripture to speak in tongues. Some believers get saved through Jesus but never believe the portion of scripture about speaking in tongues and therefore never speak in tounges.

  • Acts 1:4-5 (KJV)  And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.  5  For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
  • Acts 2:3-4 (KJV)  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

On the other hand, some people say tounges are not for today and that couldn’t be further from the truth cause Jesus promised it.

Speaking in tounges is a visible representation that the Holy Spirit is inside the believer. The moment a believer speaks in tongues is the moment the Holy Spirit “falls upon them” or becomes visible on the surface. If you look up the meaning of this word it implies something falling upon. If I said the ball fell upon the box, it would imply it being on the surface of the box. If I said the ball fell into the box, it would imply inside.

  • Fallen in the Greak is G1968 epipipto
  • Thayers Definition
    • to fall upon, to rush or press upon
      • to lie upon one
      • to fall into one’s embrace
      • to fall back upon
    • metaphorically
      • to fall upon one, i.e. to seize, take possession of him
      • of the Holy Spirit, in his inspiration and impulse

So this is an experience where the Holy Spirit manifests upon the believer! Speaking in tongues is the visible expression that can be seen and heard! It’s up to the born again believer to accept, believe, and embrace this promise from God, not reject it. That is the promise about the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues!

In Acts chapter 8 these people were born again and received Jesus when Phillip was there. However, they’re born again experience wasn’t accompanied by the manifestation of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues until Peter and John showed up! (See Acts 8:15-19)

  • Acts 8:15-16 (KJV)  Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:  16  (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

If John and Peter thought it was worth the trip for these saved believers to have this manifestation of speaking in tounges to occur then so should we! The Holy Spirit wants to teach you this so you can grow in understanding and truth! This is essential for every believer to be equipped with!

This is also considered a prayer language that has many benefits according to scripture. It helps us in our daily walk in Christ and every believer should do it. Although there is a time and a place in which it is more beneficial than others.

  • Romans 8:26-27 (KJV)  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
  • Jude 1:20-21 (KJV)  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,  21  Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
  • 1 Corinthians 14:14-19 (KJV)  For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.  15  What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.  16  Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?  17  For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.  18  I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:  19  Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

So how does it work? It’s super simple! I wish someone told me this when I was originally seeking this out with the Lord in my alone time! So let me share with you what God revealed to me.

If you ask God for the manifestation of the Holy Spirit and to speak in other tounges will he honor it? Of course He will.

  • Luke 11:11-13 (KJV)  If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?  12  Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?  13  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

The part I got hung up on was thinking that God would do that speaking part for me! I had an issue with believing/faith on this subject at first! Let me explain. God says if you believe you have received then you shall have. Also out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Grace is when God gives you the answer. Faith is when you respond to it! Scriptures states you can’t please God without faith.

  • Mark 11:24 (KJV)  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
  • Luke 6:45 (KJV)  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
  • Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Think of it like this. Some people have spoken in tounges and it literally happened in some extravagant fashion. Kind of like how some people God saved. For example, some just simply believed Jesus and followed Him. Simple and to the point, nothing too extravagant to the physical eyesight about that! While others such as Paul was knocked off his feet and saw a bright light. He even was blinded physically. He heard a voice speak to him that wasn’t in the form of a man! The people near him were speechless also cause they heard the voice but no man was there speaking! Jesus spoke to him directly as God! Then God sent Ananias to go lay hands on him to receive his physical eyesight back. He got saved in an extravagant fancy way. But the outcome is equally the same as the other who simply believed and chose to follow Jesus. Neither way is greater than the other cause both received Jesus. The outcome was the same!

It’s the same thing with speaking in tounges! Sometimes God steps in an extravagant fashion and the believer speaks in tounges. However, that’s not how it happened for me. I asked God believing that I received and then out of the abundance of my heart I spoke in tounges by faith. It was really that simple! I was overcomplicating it! The reality is both experiences hold the same weight and one is not better or worse than the other!

  • Acts 2:4 (KJV)  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Notice they were all filled and they spoke. The Holy Spirit gave them the utterance!

Just ask God right now by faith to give you words to speak in another language/tongue! Then quiet down and listen to your heart. The Holy Spirit will give you a word or utterance. He will drop a word in your heart that sounds like your thoughts but you won’t know the meaning. Just speak that word out by faith! It’s really that simple!

  • 1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
  • Matthew 10:19-20 (KJV)  But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.  20  For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

It will be Him speaking through you and not you. Why would He make this comment in Matthew? Let’s look, although it’s related to a different circumstance. The question I want to point out is why did God have to expresses to them “it won’t be YOU speaking but the Spirit of your Father speaking in you” about that situation? He knew they would think it was them speaking and not the Holy Spirit/God speaking through them! He knew at that very moment they would think it was their own thoughts but it wasn’t! It was God placing that on their hearts/thoughts!

Sometimes when you speak God has to explicitly tell you that you didn’t come up with that, it was Him. Kind of like how He told Peter! Peter would have thought he personally came up with that answer on his own, so Jesus specifically had to tell him that the answer you just gave was actually given to you by Father God!

  • Matthew 16:15-17 (KJV)  He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?  16  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.  17  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

So if you are a born again believer then you already have the Holy Spirit through Jesus. Now God wants you to allow the visible manifestation of what is already in you to surface/manifest! Ask God for a specific word or tongue in another language and speak it out by faith right now! Don’t wait!

Now you are baptized in the Holy Spirit and have spoken in other tounges! You have been indued with power from God! Now, these gifts of the Holy Spirit are available as well. This is another teaching in itself but I just wanted you to be aware and on the lookout!

  • 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 (KJV)  Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.  2  Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.  3  Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.  4  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  5  And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.  6  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.  7  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.  8  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;  9  To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;  10  To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:  11  But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

So God told the disciples back then to wait for this experience to be indued with power and speak in tongues! Today we no longer have to wait cause Jesus already sent the Holy Spirit! If they needed this manifestation to happen in their lives before they went out to witness then we do too! This helps you to go be a witness with not just words alone but with the power of the Holy Spirit. We get to bring the power of the Holy Spirit/fire to destroy the works of satan wherever we go. That means you get to go lay hands on the sick and them recover, cast out devils, etc! (See Matthew Chapter 10, Luke Chapter 10 & The book of Acts!)

Milk - Laying On Of Hands

Milk In Hands

Once we confess Jesus as Lord and trust in Him, we begin to follow him in our daily lives. We get the privilege to spread the good news and destroy the works of satan at the same time. There are two types of laying on hands that I’m aware of in the Bible.

  • The laying on of hands for healing the sick
  • The laying on of hands for people to receive the Holy Spirit/impartation.

We must realize that these two scenarios came about because of the effects of sin. Sin brings sickness, disease, and death but God tells us to go heal the sick. If sin never happened then there would be no need to lay hands on the sick or to lay hands to receive the Holy Spirit cause we would already have been born with His nature. This is similar to how God breathed into Adam when He was first created. This type of milk came into existence because of Adam’s/Eve’s sin and how everyone else is also born with a sin-nature. (See Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7)

  • Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV)  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
  • Genesis 2:7 (KJV)  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
  • John 20:22 (KJV)  And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

If Adam/Eve never sinned there would be no need to lay hands on the sick or to heal the sick, cause no one would be sick.

Also, there would be no need to lay hands on born again believers to receive the Holy Spirit and fire/impartation because we all would already have Him.

However, now you must be born again to receive the Holy Spirit inside you. When Jesus breathed on the disciples in John 20:22 this is when they became born again! Just like today, everyone must be born again through Jesus to be saved.

Think of life before sin came into play and before Adam/Eve disobeyed God’s command to them. Before they sinned there was no such thing as sickness and they already had the Spirit of God in them cause God breathed into him. (See Genesis 2:7) Think about heaven. Will there be a need to heal the sick there? Or will we need to lay hands on everyone in heaven to receive the Holy Spirit? Of course not because no one will be sick and everyone will be filled with the Holy Ghost already.

The thing is believers are on earth right now. We are supposed to bring heaven here to earth and destroy the effects of sin where ever we go. This is until the appointed time when God will tell us to come inherit the kingdom he prepared for us before the foundation of the world.

  • Matthew 25:34 (KJV)  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

We have been made righteous and have received power from God. He filled us with the Holy Spirit! Freely we have received so now we give freely as well. It’s a gift from God who made us righteous by Jesus. Now we get the honor to share that gift with people on earth today.

Laying Hands For Healing

Jesus commissions the disciples to go lay hands on the sick along with some other tasks while He was with them. (See Matthew 10 & Luke 10) He even sent them out after He was resurrected and told them the same way He was sent from the Father is the same way He is sending the disciples now.

  • John 20:21 (KJV)  Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Since Jesus laid hands on people to heal them when He was sent, so will we.

  • Matthew 8:3 (KJV)  And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
  • Mark 1:41 (KJV)  And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

This is one sign that will follow believers. They will lay hands of the sick and the sick will recover.

  • Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Laying hands to impart the Holy Spirit and fire. (Gifts of the Holy Spirit)

Whenever someone becomes born again they receive the Holy Spirit inside them. In some scenarios, the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, which is speaking in other tounges, became visible with the laying on of hands.

Philip went to Samaria and spread the good news of the gospel. They believed his message and received according to what Philip taught them about the kingdom of God/Jesus Christ. These people got born again and began to follow Jesus. However, the manifestation of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and them being endued with power did not yet happen. So Paul and Peter heard about this and wanted to give them the gift that they already received from God at Pentecost. So they laid hands on the people there and they were all baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire. (See Acts 8:1-25)

  • Acts 8:15-17 (KJV)  Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:  16  (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)  17  Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

This time all they did was lay hands and God baptized them in the Holy Spirit. This is still happening today as well.

Another scenario is to stir up the gift of God within us. This gift is the Holy Spirit. This gift is everything God has given us through His Son Jesus Christ. It’s a way for us to remember, activate and believe what we have already received inside us from God.

  • 2 Timothy 1:6-7 (KJV)  Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.  7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

In 2 Timothy Paul reminds Timothy about the time He laid hands on him to stir up the gift that was already inside him. Paul was reminding Him of the Holy Spirit. God didn’t give him a spirit of fear. God gave Him a Spirit of power, love and a sound mind! Again Paul reminds him how he laid hands to stir this gift inside him up, which was the gift of the Holy Spirit

Milk - The Resurrection Of The Dead

Cave With Light Shining In

The next milk topic is the resurrection of the dead. The reality is Jesus is the resurrection.

  • John 11:25-26 (KJV)  Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  26  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Not only is Jesus a person but He is the resurrection. This truth is a tough one for some people to swallow or accept. Some people don’t believe the dead can be resurrected while others think there are different ways to accomplish this apart from Jesus, both of those opinions are wrong. Two prime examples are the Pharisees and the Sadducees. (See Mark 12:18, Matthew 22:23)

  • 1 Corinthians 15:12-17 (KJV)  Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?  13  But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:  14  And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.  15  Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.  16  For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:  17  And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
  • Romans 4:20-25 (KJV)  He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;  21  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.  22  And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.  23  Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;  24  But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;  25  Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

One of the core beliefs about Jesus is that He was raised for our justification. In other words, through Him dying and being raised from the dead we are now righteous/justified. He took and removed our sins. Then gave us His righteousness. If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead then we would still be stuck in sins. If He didn’t rise again then we would not be righteous through Him. If He didn’t rise from the dead then we also wouldn’t rise from the dead. The resurrection is not something taken lightly in the Bible it’s a foundational teaching that we all need to be rooted and grounded in!

  • 1 Corinthians 15:18-26 (KJV)  Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.  19  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.  20  But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.  21  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.  22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.  23  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.  24  Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  25  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.  26  The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

The good news is Jesus did die and rise again. The last enemy which is death couldn’t hold Jesus down in the grave. Jesus has all power and He defeated death! Therefore since He is risen, then those who believe in Him will also rise and defeat death through Him!

Milk - Eternal Judgment

Two Doors

The last portion of milk is dealing with eternal judgment. There are only two judgment sentences. You’re either declared righteous or unrighteous. You’re either forgiven of your sins or still living in your sins. You’re either hot or cold. There isn’t a lukewarm answer here. It’s one or the other. You’re either declared innocent or guilty.

Everyone was born into sin and has fallen short of the glory of God. That’s the truth. The good news is God saw us as orphans without a parent. He saw us as sheep without a Shepard. He loved us so much and saw us for our true created value living a life with Him. That’s why Jesus came to be the atonement for sins. He came to fix the sin issue once and for all. To get His children back. So His children hear his voice and come! When we come to Jesus and give our life to Him, He wipes out all our sins, sanctifies us and makes us righteous.

  • John 3:16-21 (KJV)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.  21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
  • Hebrews 10:9-14 (KJV)  Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.  10  By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  11  And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:  12  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;  13  From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.  14  For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Jesus didn’t come to judge us. He came to save us. Right now is a time for redemption! Those who choose to believe in Him are sanctified by Him! Those people are considered righteous in God’s eyes! This is God’s will for people, to accept and follow Jesus! However, Jesus talks about those who reject His/Father God’s words. He says in the last day that Father God will judge them.

  • John 12:44-50 (KJV)  Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.  45  And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.  46  I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.  47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.  48  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.  49  For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.  50  And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
  • Matthew 25:31-46 (KJV)  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  32  And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:  33  And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  34  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  35  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  36  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  37  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  38  When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  39  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?  40  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.  41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:  42  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:  43  I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.  44  Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?  45  Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.  46  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

On that last day, there are only two outcomes. Everlasting punishment for the unrighteous or life eternal for the righteous. The good news is God gives us the answer in the Bible now. He tells us how people are going to be judged on that day and lets them make their choice which they prefer. There is no middle ground, it’s one or the other. He recommends all to take the answer to eternal life and righteousness through Jesus! He does not recommend everlasting punishment to any person.

Imagine two doors side by side. One door is locked while the other door is wide open with no key necessary. There is no requirement to enter the open door. You can live a life full of sinful pleasures on the earth and you’re still qualified in the end for this open door. Some people prefer this door cause they can live a life however they want. It requires no change. The locked door has a note engraved in it. It states to open this door you must seek the key bearer whose location is revealed in this book. However, before you do you may want to count the cost. The key bearer to this door considers the sinful pleasures of this world evil. He says everything beyond the locked door is clean, pure and undefiled. To enter in the key bearer must clean you and sanctify you. You can choose to believe Him and follow Him but in doing so you’re also agreeing with Him from that point on. In doing so you’re basically turning your back on the old way of living to live a new life based on what He says. This door requires you to get to know the key bearer and follow Him. He will not only forgive you and teach you the good way of life but will help you every step of the way. He will also be the one who opens the door for you. You will be able to enter and bring the good things from the other side to the people who haven’t found Him yet. He will want you to share His goodness with others while there is still time to come to the door. So that they can come to Him as well and experience life with Him. He will want you to help the people who are still lost even if they don’t realize it. Some people would rather reject this door because the key bearer exposes their old way of living as evil and full of sin. Even though He gives them life and a better way. To come to this door you must agree and believe what the key bearer says. You must lay down your old way of living/thinking and live a new life with the key bearer!

The reality is Jesus is the key bearer. God gives everyone the answer to eternal life. His will is for none to perish but some people will choose the open door instead of His door to life. Jesus came to expose sin and remove sin which is a curse from birth. He came to show grace and mercy by dealing with the sin issue. Sin disfigured His lost children. God decided to come and restore His kids! Some people choose to seek and find Jesus, which is life but others find Him as a stumbling block. They rather not trust Him because they love darkness more than light. They don’t want to accept the truth about sin being a real problem and sin being evil or they want to pick/choose what sin is apart from what God has already said about it.

The reality is Jesus is the only one who can clean people and remove sin. His words are life to those that find it and He will even come live inside us by a new living way with the Holy Spirit. He wants us to take the truth He gives to us to others with the intention of them coming as well Him as well. Jesus is the ultimate deciding factor of what people will receive as a sentence on judgment day. Whether they choose Him or reject Him.

Jesus, who never sinned, took the judgment for our sin at the cross. Those who choose to follow Him and be born again will not be judged unrighteously because He was judged for their sins. He restores them back to their original value before sin ever came into the picture. When judgment day comes He will see those who trust and follow Him as righteous and say “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”

Those who choose to reject Jesus’s and His advice/words will still need to be judged for their sins. They will still be considered unrighteous in the sight of God. They will hear this, “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”

God doesn’t make it hard to become born again. He gives people the answer in the Bible which is to believe and follow Jesus! He doesn’t want people to be judged unrighteously on that last day and is patient/long-suffering. This is why judgment day has not come yet. We are in the day of redemption and grace at the moment! The problem is when some people come to Him and He told them the truth about life, they loved evil more than good. These people don’t want to consider living life through God’s viewpoint but instead their own viewpoint. They may not realize it now but on that day they will know it was the wrong choice. They choose to try to save their own life (with the sin-nature) instead of laying down their old life (the sin-nature) for a new life filled with the Spirit of God through Jesus Christ!.

  • Matthew 16:24-28 (KJV)  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  25  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.  26  For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?  27  For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.  28  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
  • Mark 8:34-38 (KJV)  And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  35  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.  36  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  37  Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?  38  Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
  • Luke 9:23-27 (KJV)  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  24  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.  25  For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?  26  For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.  27  But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
  • John 12:25-26 (KJV)  He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.  26  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

People who try to save their old way of life according to the flesh (sin-nature) will ultimately lose it on judgment day. People who lose their old way of living life by the flesh (sin-nature) will actually find what true life is now, which is living by the Spirit through Jesus Christ.

These are the people who get born again through Jesus Christ and receives a new life. God removes their old sin-nature and puts in them the Holy Spirit. They then live a life following Jesus lead by the Holy Spirit!

Those who try to save their lifestyle of sin right now will lose it on judgment day. They will ultimately taste the second death. This type of lifestyle won’t inherit the kingdom of God! (See Revelation 2:11, 20:6, 20:14, 21:8)

  • Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV)  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

People who deny that type of lifestyle now and come to Jesus will find the true meaning of life now on earth. They won’t lose their newfound life in Christ Jesus on judgment day! Why won’t these people lose it on judgment day? It’s simple because when they got born again through Jesus the old way of living life according to the flesh (sin-nature) died. So they already lost that life and won’t lose it again on judgment day cause it’s already gone. Now they have a new life led by the Holy Spirit and when judgment day comes this type of life is acceptable. Therefore this new life in Jesus won’t be taken away!

  • Galatians 5:18 (KJV)  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
  • Ephesians 5:8-10 (KJV)  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:  9  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)  10  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

I know that’s a tough pill for some to swallow but its the truth. God loves you greatly and this is why He talks about this now so no one is fooled when that day comes. If you have already chosen Jesus as Lord and are following Him then congrats you have nothing to fear! Spread the good news about Jesus to those around you! If you have rejected Jesus please reconsider and grab a Bible! Ask God to show you the truth and reveal Himself to you through Jesus Christ! Then continue seeking Him and you will find your answer! I Love yah and I’m thankful you have taken the time to read this post!

Be Blessed In Jesus Name

It’s my heart’s desire to be able to do ministry full time by the grace of God! It would be impossible without the Lord’s help but with God this is possible. Jesus freely gave and also had people who partnered with Him. By you partnering with the Lord Jesus Christ in this ministry it will help free up time for me to pour into resources to help the body of Christ! Please pray and ask God if you should partner and support what He is doing here today!
